Game icon in Multiman desktop

Hello All,

Been a while since i was on.

I have installed a game to the 'Game' folder on my 4.82 CFW PS3

The issue i have is the only place i can navigate to launch it is the Filemanager desktop in MultiMan, i created a shortcut from the Eboot.bin to that location and that works fine to launch it.

However, How can i make this shortcut show up anywhere else of the PS3? Preferably on the main XMB?

ManaGunZ can make xmb shortcuts for games, The only other way would be to install webman or webman mod.

Or check out the webman classics maker thread, that had something on it about xmb shortcuts for games iirc.

I have Webman installed as it controls my fan speeds automatically and it doesn't show up there.

If the game is a PSN game, it is installed in the folder /dev_hdd0/game and a shortcut is created on XMB automatically when you install the PKG or when you rebuild the database (in case the shortcut is missing).

If the game is a folder backup of a PS3 bluray, it must be copied into the folder /GAMES or /GAMEZ stored in the root of /dev_hdd0 or in the root of a USB storage device (pendrive, hdd, etc.) formatted in FAT32.

If the game is an ISO image, it must be copied into the respective folder /PS3ISO, /PS2ISO, /PSXISO, /PSPISO, /BDISO or /DVDISO stored in the root of /dev_hdd0 or in the root of a USB storage device (pendrive, hdd, etc.) formatted in NTFS or FAT32. Note: the PS2ISO only works from the system storage (/dev_hdd0).

If you follow that file structure, any backup manager (including webMAN, sMAN, multiMAN, IRISMAN, manaGunZ, etc.) will detect your games and list them in their respective user interface. e.g. webMAN will list the game on XMB automatically.

Be aware that the file and folder names in /dev_hdd0 are case sensitive. So folder names: /Game, /Games, /games, /gamez, etc. are not detected by any backup manager.

Ahh i see, the game is a folder backup, not a PKG install.

I have put it in 'dev_hdd0/game'

I need to relocate it the Games folder, thank you.

That folder is for your apps, PSN games and disc based games installation data.
