PS3 Help with Hfw and new Hdd

I have a ps3 with ofw and hfw on 4.91. I want to upgrade its hdd to 500 gb but i don't if i'll be forced to update the system and the hfw to the latest release 4.92 while doing the process.

Yes, as long as you keep the same FW version on all of them: HDDs and console.

If you update FW version, the not installed HDD will be unrecognized.
