PS3 Is it possible to install firmware over pc?

Hello everyone, as the title says, I've gotten a PS3 SuperSlim with the infamous 8002F1F9 error, I've an USB, I'll be trying the HDD unplugging method tomorrow but even so, my question is, would I be able to install any firmware, official or not, by unplugging the HDD and plugging it into a pc? Would it even work? I really don't want to leave a bricked PS3 out here and I don't trust my hands enough to mess with the bluetooth/wifi motherboard thingies. Thank you in advance.

I've managed to install 4.92 somehow and along with it, the HFW. Am I able to install HEN without access to the internet? I've tried wifi&ethernet but it seems to not work.

If You installed HFW, it means you don't have broken BT/WiFi as error suggesting. And "somehow" term is non informative.

Establish ethernet cable connection. You cannot install HEN offline (you don't need WAN, but at least LAN if you set your own server) because entry point of those exploits is web browser. At least AFAIK.
