PSN Patch question

Do i need to launch it everytime i launch my ps3 or only once? and is holding down X when launching it the way to activate it properly or not?

The psnpatch app is to be launched everytime you boot the console. The choice of buttons to press depends on the features you wish to enable. Pressing X will enable all.
Instead of using the app, I suggest you install the psnpatch plugin (from the app's Cobra menu).
Once installed, the plugin will start automatically in the background when you boot the console & apply your settings. If ever you want to spoof ids, you will need to edit the psnpatch.cfg file in the psnpatch installation directory & add the ids at the appropriate placeholders.
Whenever you wish to connect to PSN, you just need to trigger the psnpatch plugin with a specific gamepad combo ie L3+R3+R2.
