PS3 Should i install a Custom firmware or PS3HEN?

Hello,

I just picked up a CECH 2001A. I have always been an Xbox person since I have been little but I have really taken a liking to PlayStation's in the recent years especially since I can mod and add games to them whenever I get that nostalgic itch.

This is my first ever PS3 that I have owned and looking to mod it and just play games. What do you all feel like would be best. Wait for 4.92 CFW to come out of install the HFW just to play the games?

HFW by itself is useless. You will have to install HEN afterwards (and activate it on each power on).

CFW on the other hand enables you to run homebrews out of the box.

Do you know the typical success rate of running HEN? I already have to do that on PS4 11.00 so I have no issue having to run it on startup.

I'm on a CECH2504B code 1A. It is minimum downgrade of 3.50

I really like HEN due to the toggle-ability but my minimum downgrade is 3.50 and mmCM reports I can use cobra 4.84hen (mmCM on hen is 4.84)

I dont know which CFW to even go with, and it seems very complicated compared to HEN anyways. Any ideas?
