Okay so i've been through literally actually every single thread tagged PS3HEN about a super slim and nobody seems to have an answer for me.

i've quadruple checked my directories, tried unplugging the controller, tried a CD with the HFW on it. three different usbs from different brands and sizes, changed cluster size to 16kb, my drive is formatted to mbr FAT32. drive is detected on the console also! shows up in the media hub. have tried to download through settings and recovery mode. my hash displayed the correct number as well. my console was out of date since i haven't touched it in about two years and i just updated the OFW via ethernet, could that be my issue?

sorry if this is a little out of order i was just naming the things i remembered lol.

Install it in recovery.
it says above i've already tried that, please read it throughly.

Hmm.. That's weird. What is the error code/message you are receiving?
Also, It would be useful to share the directory tree that leads to the update file.

You may also want to try the steps below:
Can't install HFW (No Applicable update data was found)
again i have looked through every thread and every reply, and have seen this and tried it multiple times. my directory is PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP and it's giving me the no applicable update data found message

Hello, I wanted to report a problem. I tried playing Metal Gear Rising on my PS3 (CECHA00 or DECHA00A) using Evilnat 4.91.3 Beta 2 and Rebug 4.84. I encountered sound problems in the game, which seem to be caused by the DEX region settings. The default North America setting work, and selecting Europe (as it's a PAL game) causes sound issues. I've tested this with both a CD and a backup, with the same result. Does anyone know how to fix this? Of course in Dex mode and not in Cex mode. What I still noticed when I changed the setting in Dex is the same in Cex mode.

Sorry Guys Thread can colsed its not this bug.

Hi guys, I have to turn to you again; maybe someone can help me? I'm still having an issue with my DECHA00A. When I play the game, the sound sometimes hangs, but the game itself does not. This happens during sequences or when I start the game and remain on the start screen. But that only happens when I have fully set up the PS3. With my CECHA00, it is not currently a problem, but I did have an issue where the picture took longer to appear.

replying to push back to the top (i checked this is not against the rules)
There is no need to push it to the top. It will be seen just the same.
The reason we discourage this, is because well if everyone did that it would be a huge problem.

This can also fall under rule #9, no reason to say you looked at the rules and being cheeky about it, obviously your know your being a bit annoying about it if you have to mention that.
9.) No childish behavior (Don't be an annoyance or child-like)
  • Post will be removed and/or your posting abilities will be revoked.

but since unnecessary bumping was not specific. I went ahead and added it.
To Rule #4.

Can your PS3 detects OFW 4.91 on a flashdrive?

Can you make a screenshot of your directories on a USB device?

Do you have any spare 2.5" HDD?
If yes you could probably insert it with 4.91 HFW on a flashdrive and PS3 will format it and install firmware it from scratch.
Although I am not sure what happens when you will insert an old drive so make a backup of its content to prevent losing all saves, configs, etc from it:

It must be a not compatible flash drive or a problem with USB port(s)

Try a different USB drive or a USB sata adapter with a HDD should also work.

Try both ports.

Edit: if USB device isn't showing up on xmb, then try a different one until it does.

lol the reason i even said it twice was because the site made it look like mods took down my first reply. i didn't do it because i "knew i was being annoying" i said that because i was pointing out that if it WAS in the rules, you should be more specific about it. you pick the wildest hills to die on dude. and can nobody on this website spell? like i'm appalled that even the SYSTEM ANNOUNCEMENTS have typos.

is it really a problem to follow decades-old standard internet etiquette? if you knew to check the rules, you knew somebody would not like it! (BTW we don't like double and triple posting either.)

as for the superslim pup install problem, make sure the file has only one ".pup" at the end if you are using a windows PC.

i knew to check the rules because obvi all the mods/admins are on such a power trip that they would nitpick and find anything wrong. i was correct! you people are on your weird little corner of the internet and you think that makes yall untouchable but really you just look like an incel every time you reply and take shit so seriously.

ALSO literally nobody is helping because you are not reading the og post and keep telling me the same shit over and over again. i'm done with this site, feel free to delete my account. also extremely stupid i can't delete my account myself, i don't like yall.

Your wish is granted!.

amazing to me how many people think that everything on the internet belongs to them--even if somebody else paid for the domain name, software, and webserver! i have volunteered my time here countless hours and have saved more than one ps3 from the trash bin. i know many people thanked me and others...but the people like this are the ones i really remember.
