Don't do any further writes to the hdd or your chances of recovery will be zero.
Wait and hope somone has some solid information on trying to recover it.
The drive is encrypted so the tiniest change can destroy everything.
If you hit yes to initialising the drive when you connected it to the PC, she's most likely a goner. :/
If you have your eid_root_key you can try using aldostools to attempt to read the data, but sounds like it's already gone.
Personally, I think a 1TB 7200rpm drive is perfect for the PS3, Fast and reliable.
Just go external HDDs for anything bulky.
SSHD was painful with random slowdowns and other issues. SSDs are troublesome too I'm told. (but haven't tried personally)
I tried a 1.5TB drive a few times and it would...
Been a long time since I've used webmanmod either, but I'm Pretty sure the extra icons etc webmanmod uses are installed by the updater into wmtmp folder.
Reinstalling from the updater should bring those back at least.
I use multiman myself for ripping games to isos, so can't advice much on...
Yeah. Old consoles are easy to get at pawn shops etc. Got lucky with the 2502 I picked up the other day. $70aud, never opened and using default sony fan controls runs around 69'C at 29% fan speed.
Was going to redo the TIM etc, but with those temps I may just leave it unopened for a while. (If...
Well, bought another PS3 today as my old girl is starting to get a bit temperamental. I was about to give up with this and warm up the soldering iron, but after several attempts it eventually succeeded. :)
Tricky stuff indeed. Well done and thank you to all involved.
It doesn't force the check, but if you let it run it will fail and will force a format. (in my testing anway)
Even if you didn't have a bad shutdown and manually run the file system check on a clean system it will fail at like 0-2% from memory and force you to format.
Either way, something to...
Out of interest, (assuming you have data backups and a flasher to get out of jail) try a file system check like you get after a bad shutdown.
My 1.5tb worked great until I let it run a file system check which it fails and forces a format. (Every damn time)
An option would be to disable that...
Mentioned this a few times but SSHD has been semi problematic for me and preferred my 1tb 7200rpm HDD for consistency and reliability.
1.5Tb drive formatted and worked fine until you have a bad shutdown and run the file system check at which point it fails almost immediately and forces a...
Are you using rebug or an sshd? Rebug has a habbit of doing that to me with the psn store every time on a completely fresh service mode install, or corrupting future packages / updates around that point during an install with my current SSHD. Didn't seem to happen on my normal HDD for whatever...
Was a few months ago now I think - Pretty sure it was on 4.81 cfw. Only happened a couple of times out of countless conversions... but enough to be wary of.
CECHLxx console - so always rather quirky and a bit random when it comes to certain things.
Certain bugs that just don't seem to be...
Yeah, Still take extreme caution with the cex/dex swap using the rebug toolbox. Backup on cex and and again on dex after the conversion to be safe. On rare occasions it hasn't fully converted properly and left me with (what I'm assuming is) a mis-matched brick, just beeping a bunch of times and...
I had similar issues losing sync etc. a while back with PS2 games. A few months later the batteries in the controllers decided to die completely.
Was looking in all the wrong places. :P
