Pretty sure I got this working but I don't have an mx4sio to test Bdm usb works so I imagine mx4 does also

Yea I'm an idiot, exFat isn't the issue.. I had bdm usb working then just added mx4 driver and called it a day… forgetting to swap out the sio2man driver at the same time.. I'll do it when I get pc time.. tomorrow or next day

If it helps, I have a SCPH-70004 (Slim) and a SCPH-39004 (FAT). I also have an original MX4SIO. I am able to do some testing.

Too bad that this player does not support other movie formats than avi and mpg...
It still also has a few bugs\limitations...

1. It has black borders (the screen is not full) on e.g. 720p\1080i video mode.
Settings like Display height, Display width are max blocked to 676 or 1190.

2. When you stop playing any move e.g. at 30 min.
Launch the move again.
Go back to 29:55. The app will freeze at 30 min.

3. It has strange artifacts in higher video modes while playing a move.

Alright this should work, sio2man swapped out..which means mcman mcserv and padman also had to be so....I just used El_isras already done code there with minor tweaks so original SMS stays intact as a compile time option, in saying that should the bounty be fulfilled El_isra and I would like to split it.

I only tested in pcsx2 as I don't have real hw readily accessible so I used bdm usb and we can see mx4 module running there and

I only tested in pcsx2 as I don't have real hw readily accessible so I used bdm usb and we can see mx4 module running there and

I only have a USB device\disk...
Additionally I deleted SMS folder from a memory card.
So yeah, it even freezes with only a USB disk.

EDIT: I also freezes without a USB disk loaded from a memory card:
