PS3 3.55OFW to 4.89.3 Evilnat: 8002F263

Hello,

After downgrading to 3.55 ofw and doing a clean reinstall of 3.55 ofw, everytime i try to jump to 4.89.3 Evilnat i have to format the ps3 disk because it enters a bootloop.

Any ideas? I have tried installing 3.55 rogero on top of 3.55 CFW, and it worked. however, i can't jump to evilnat's from this cfw.....

The errors i see are 8002F263 and another i can't seem to trigger now. But both indicate corrupted data. (this is when the bootloop occurs).

I have 3.55OFW currently and working fine.

Which CFW PUP of evilnat's are you trying to install?
You can not install D-PEX or DEX PUPs.
Only CEX or PEX

That is because your on a CEX (retail) console currently.

Yep i am trying the Cex one (after reading the readme just "copied" the rebug instructions hehe).
I checked the SSD health using Samsung magician and it is at 95%.
Just experienced a black screen on boot on 3.55 OFW....damn.

Well i don't think is a compatibility issue... been using this ssd for a couple of years (samsung 850 evo 512GB). But also i don't have another 2.5" drive... :S
Could it have something to do with the HDMI IC? Is there any way to check the NOR?

have you tried with any other CFW, like Rebug or Ferrox? maybe try going to a 4.82 or 4.84 CEX CFW, then update to Evilnat

Trust me on this I made a post with the same issue. You'll need to install Rebug I prefer 4.84.2 and then make sure qa flags are enabled after it finishes. You can then install evilnats new CFW.

If your PS3 is already on CFW then don't touch. Never reflash if already on CFW unless you go back to OFW or HFW and then wish to go to CFW again. Installing a CFW from another CFW is done just by installing it as a system update.

I am having again black screen (4.89.3 evilnat) and system boots 1 out of n times. Also happens with recovery.

Managed to play some games with no issues tho.

I don't know what else to do... besides hardware flashing.

assuming you have QA flags enabled, try downgrading to Rebug 4.84 REX, and see if you also get black screens or if it fails to boot.

If Rebug works fine, then I'd suggest to stick to Rebug for a while, until you figure out whats happening with your hardware.

After successfully booting on 4.89.3, i managed to reinstall 10 times with a different ssd and a final reinstall with the "old" ssd (the samsung) it now boots every time and the dumps give all "ok" with PyPs3Checker.... oh my gosh. I think i'll take apart, check the psu and repaste anyway :O
