Since 4.86 CFW is a newly version which has only 10 days, I'm afraid to use it right now till i see people's feedback. Maybe it's not as stable as 4.85
You can check the 'CFW' tab in the 4.86 thread for the latest versions of CFW. As of now, there's only Rebug LITE and Ferrox Cobra, both of which are highly reputable brands.

While it's sensible of you not wanting to rush in and update immediately, I highly doubt there are any issues with either, since their developers are professionals and would not publicly release a CFW if it was not properly and thoroughly tested beforehand. I'm still on 4.85 Ferrox Cobra myself, but I will likely update at some point in the near future.

Well, in my oppinion being afraid of posible bugs/problems introduced in the latest 4.86 CFW versions is a valid argument, sometimes happens, but incase it happens most probably there will be released "bugfix" versions of that firmwares

In some way, if you come from an outdated rogero firmware is better if you "jump to the wagon" of latest CFW versions and you will be in the same boat than 90% of all other CFW users, so all tools, tutorials or forum talks about CFW applyes to your PS3 setup
Most people that suggest to stay in a older CFW is because they needs a DEX based firmware to run online cheat tools, but if you are a normal user (no online cheating, and no reverse enginering, or software development) then you are good to keep the CFW updated to latest version

The rebug 4.86 lite is stable btw, no bugs reported so far

Well that's right. Those 2 replied almost clarified most of my doubts. Thank you!
