PS3 4.86 OFW Released + 4.86 Custom Firmware / PS3HEN / Apps / Tools Updates

Greetings everyone!
I am total rookie with all this jailbrake-ing thing so for quite a while I'm exploring the forum, reading old post, new posts...still, I have a lot of unclear things...to clarify at least some of them would be success. :)
To cut the talk, i have ps3 SuperSlim CECH-4004C with system software original 4.86 .
How I understood only possible way of cracking my type of ps3 is with HAN. I realise that all this 4.86 update that came from sony made a big mess, but from what I saw so far, it will be handeled.
I would just like to know how to jailbrake my ps3 to be able to play games copied from usb. Everything else (you tube, netflix, movies, music) is not important.
Also, online play of games is not important. (don't judge me :) ) If that is even possible, it's fine with me to have my ps3 completely offline.
I would just like to copy game that I want and play it from the beginning till the end. :)

I would apreciate if someone could shortly explain it to me, or direct me to some other topics.

superslims can not jailbreak but can run han/hen. hen is very much like jailbreak and includes han. so i recommed you look into hen (and hfw as hen/han need to it first).

You need to determine whether or not your PS3 is compatible with CFW. Visit ** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset on your PS3 and select the Flash Memory Manager tab. Then the tool will check whether your PS3 is compatible with CFW.

I have to say that I'm not an expert with game consoles, never had one before. I have ordered and am waiting to be delivered PS3 Slim CECH-2004A, 9C.

I have checked if it can be jailbroken, and some tool says that it can. However, the owner said it has 4.86 software in it. (It's not clear to me whether 4.86 software also means firmware or not, usually in PC world firmware and software are different. So my apologies if I misunderstand something.)

I have spend past few days reading online resources regarding JB of PS3, but still have questions.
So my ultimate goal is to be able to play downloaded games on it, I don't need internet/online access with it at all. I don't need and don't want to use any account on it. Just put the game into HDD and play it (at least that's how I imagine how it works).

What options do I have? Can I JailBreak it, or "only" make it HEN-abled? I also read somewhere that HEN is "less persistent then JailBreak", so do I need to make it HEN every time I turn it on or what?

After I JailBreak or HEN-able it - do I have to keep updating it or can I just happily use it for the next 20 years without ever updating any firmware/software/JB/HEN/etc...?

I hope I'm not asking too much, it's just that I have nave had any console (except old times with Ziliton and Sega) and I have no expertise in JB'ing them.

Hello there. Anyway somebody could do a 4.86 with noBT? Searched everywhere and could not finda any CFW or MFW to bypass the Bluetooth/Wifi check and stuck on recent stupid official Sony update. My PS3 is a CECH-3004B (I know, not downgradable to 3.55) but I still having hope that someone could fix that. Tried many methods I could find and no luck at all. If someone knows a way, please just let me know. Thanks guys!
 
heloo guyss, im still new to this jailbreak thig, so i have the latest super slim model with ofw 4.85 and hen 3.0.0 already install. everything works fine multiman works too. last night while connected to internet my hen is auto updated to the latest one when i want to enable it. everything seems works, in can still open my multiman and everything still works. so now i have the latest hen on my super slim, so that does mean i can just update my OFW to 4.86 from the system setting or i have to download the hfw version. as far as i know my super slim model have the ofw one when i bought it

hen and han currently required hfw to work. they need the old insecure browser to activate.

okay so my ps3 is actually running hfw 4.85 even tho in the system information is ofw 4.85, so if i want to install hfw 4.86 do i have to reinstall my hen? and if i do that, do i have to update my multiman as well? is it save to go online with hen? because is pretty much the reason why i want to update my fw

not for your model...only cfw-compatable can install that. you can replace the broken bt hardware.

what update are you on? 4.86?

I can't remember the one I was before the update but probably it was from one released in 2016 (probably 4.81 - https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3_system_software). Last time before I tried to update to 4.86, I played offline.
Local repair shops aren't working cause covid-19 and tried to search this service online. Most of repairs are asking $60 for the repair (not worth, I guess :-/)
