PS3 4.88 Update is Live! - Official HFW & HEN Released

Hi im new here. I recently had my ps3 converted to 4.88 with hen 3.0.3

Can i directly sign in to my psn account or do i have to something else first so i wont be banned by psn?

If you don't want to take any risk, don't enable HEN when you use PSN, boot the console, use PSN then disconnect from PSN when you wish to use HEN.
That is the safest way.
 
I'm back again ... after 3 weeks I was able to find a PS3 controller, I come home very happy, I put the PS3 in Recovery mode, I do Software Update and the PS3 tells me this: no relevant data was found. HOW. could someone explain to me how this is possible? I haven't found a single mistake equal to mine ... apparently life just doesn't want me to mod this PS3
 
Nevermind, i finally did it! Apparently I had to unplug the controller while checking the update ... because as far as I understand the PS3 was reading the information from the controller and not from the USB stick! Ah Ps3, You are a beautiful console but you have certain bugs that are sensational. Thanks everyone for reading and answering my questions for help and thanks to the developers of this mod for developing it!
 
Can someone please help? I keep getting this error every time I try to unzip the update "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged."

The rar archive is fine, I just tested it, it extracted the PUP file as /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP.

I don't really understand what your problem is tbph.
And how can you get the same message error, you should be using different tools to decompress the zip & rar archives, if the files were corrupted, you would get different errors with each tool.
You should post screenshots of the errors to get further help.

This is what I'm currently getting when trying to extract the file.

! C:\Users\RetailAdmin\Downloads\HFW 4.88.rar: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

That's maybe because you don't have any appropriate tools to decompress the rar file. Install winrar if it's not already installed & open the archive file in winrar, do the extraction from there.

Yeah I've been using winrar to try and extract it.
