It's still possible to go online with HFW 4.88 and HEN if you have webman mod install. All you need copy ps3-updatelist.txt to /dev_hdd0/ and reboot. Only thing, from now you will need a laptop to sign into your psn a/c to obtain a Device password. So make sure you saved the password to your ps3 so you don't have to keep repeating the process.

I'll keep using this method till the official hfw comes out although technically I'm still using official PS3 xploit firmware (4.88.1)

Only check the Save password box!! Never use auto sign-in. This is important.

Its not as safe as the new hfw will be I guess and people have told me I run the risks of getting band with this spoofing method but I've been playing GTA IV ONLINE tonight and ain't been band yet. Even though it's working for me I don't recommend it if your worried about bans

nothing is 100% safe, not even life. I've been using this method to bypass updates at my own risk. I've used ps3proxy server both on pc/android and this method is more simple, you don't need to set proxy in ps3 and feels safer to do. But you should update as soon as HFW/HEN becomes official.

Bans are more likely via messaging. eg derogatory messages

its not the first time i wait for a new HFW and HEN, but i just wanted to know if that bypass method is even safe, and what the risks are, im still patiently waiting for the new HFW and HEN, ive been playing ACE Combat, GTA V and GT6 while waiting so im good

Neither OFW or HFW is safe while connected to s0ny servers. The safest method is offline.

I tried to build an HFW myself to see if I get any errors as a lot of people who are using the unofficial release are having issues, no erros so far if you restore the original sprx of tar 6 from 4.89. I also built myself a custom HEN and everything is running as it should.

BTW, If possible, don't use any unofficial builds from Youtubers as they only want VIEWERS and MAKE MONEY FROM IT, those builds are not contributing to the development of HEN, if you want a STABLE and improved HEN with new features, always support the official PS3XPLOIT TEAM, they worked hard all these years for FREE and they only release it when everything is tested to make sure there are no issues.

So be patient and stop asking for ETAS, it will be ready when it is ready. In the meantime, consider supporting the developers, by making a small donation if possible, there are thousands of people who use the tools developed by the team and even make money from it and never support the creators who really worked hard on them.

I notice since yesterday I'm not able to sign in , it ask for update as expected,,I have no choice I Need to use PS3 proxy app again to sign in and play online without update until HFW and Hen got update support to 4.89.

if you really want to go online dat bad, ps3-updatelist.txt with webman mod is best method. but s0ny new update require the use of a Device password no matter the firmware (i think).
