There are always risks. There are certain things you can do to mitigate the risks, but I'd advise you not to use any account you care about. If you get account banned, like Sony is notorious for, you'll be banned on all systems that use that account. It happened to me in fact, lost all purchases, all trophies in the process.

Folding@Home won't happen because the servers are long gone, and there's no point in setting up private servers for that - first, because you would need an actual cause to donate your CPU resources to, and second, because even the processing power of all modded (and still in use today) PS3s combined pales in comparison to several hundreds (maybe a few thousand at best) gaming PCs.
Yes, you could make the app run and display the animations but it would be just a fancy screensaver at this point.

Side note, I've had my personal psn account signed into multiple cfw ps3's since 2020 without a single issue. JUST DONT CHEAT like adding trophies you did not legitimately earn. I've also sold over 40 cfw ps3's and to my knowledge about 90% of my clients take their ps3 online aswell and have yet to have a single issue. There are even famous youtubers actively making video's today showing them taking their cfw ps3 online to play games with their friends and make videos about it.

Yeah, unfortunately, you have to agree to the tos to install firmware as well as sign up for PSN. I don't blame Sony. I blame myself for being naive to think that it wouldn't happen to me. I didn't lose that much stuff though, and I'm legit now, so I won't take any chances after having spent hundreds or thousands on PSN. That's why you shouldn't risk an account you care about, especially if you use it on multiple systems or legitimately elsewhere. What I did afterwards was created a new account on each system, except the PS3 (system was banned too), making sure each system was separate. They were all hacked.

Does anyone know how to activate the "Toggle Hidden Trophy Info" option located on Custom Firmware Tools > Cobra Tools?

And if i try to unlock a trophy using the option that appears when pressing triangle on the trophy, does it unlock only offline, or it will sync when i go online?

I'm sorry maybe I do somthing wrong but I just flash this FW yesterday and CPU/RSX clockspeed stay the same, I did check it with Webman MOD and Evilnat basic tools still 500/550. Can you gy help me out with this?
Oh my PS3 is CECHK05 Korean version, I just deepclean the board in sonic cleaner and thermalpaste it only get max 65/68 Celcius so I really wanna overclock it. Thanks yall

Try swapping your HDD out and try again with the update from safe mode.

It seems Extended Download Plugin in BETA10 has 2 major issues:
1-Missing custom icons used in download_list.xml (they were not included in the PUP)
2-download_plugin.sprx patched incorrectly.

Both issues are solved installing the official Extended Download Plugin 1.0 by @DeViL303

webMAN MOD now has a CFW MODs section in the online updater that includes a modded Extended Download Plugin with both fixes and 3 additional save locations: /dev_hdd0/exdata, /dev_hdd0/DVDISO, /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/theme

I think some (or all?) your download links to your CFW mods inside Webman updater are offline. I wanted to install the updated Extended Download Manager and Power Options on User column.

unfortunately, I don't own a cfw system, so I can't test it on the console. and, rpcs3 only uses the dev_flash portions, so it wouldn't be able to detect if it's not oc. I guess someone would have to confirm that, which I assumed them saying it was working means that oc was working also.

Just press "X" when this option is selected, it will reveal the name and the description of the ´Hidden´ trophies, just like the option that is avaible in ps4 and ps5.

I believe it won't sync, unless some change have been made but back when rebug introduced this feature it didn't sync.
on the other hand there's also the option "enable TrophyUnlocker" under *Custom Firmware Tools > Cobra Tools. But I don't have the slightest idea if it will sync.

That's weird I'd just tested and it worked just fine, there's an upper right corner popup saying "hidden trophies deactivated/activated reboot for changes take effect", and I checked, hidden trophies became 'unhidden'.

Ok, after reading your post, i thought i should probably try to update the CFW to see if it would work and... apparently it did, now when i select the toggle hidden trophy info, the "hidden trophies deactivated/activated reboot for changes take effect" popup appeared and it worked. Thank you very much for the help

2. Is there a way with cfw to put a 2TB ssd on the ps3 so i can have more space for the games?

1. No need to install HEN for CFW. You must use BgToolset first.

2. SSDs are not compatible with the PS3, and drives over 1TB have compatibility issues.
