Hello guys , im a total noobster when it comes to the modding world, but will there be a possibility to add ps2 online support on ps3? Is it impossible? I mean there are private servers for ps2 but idk when is emulated if it'll work, thanks

just curious, had similar issues when using a 7200RPM HDD, when I put a 5400RPM it fixed itself, also are you playing with lose files or did you convert it to an iso?

If I'm not mistaken, only CECHA/B and CECHC/E models are able to connect to the Internet. Full software ps2_netemu emulator lacks ethernet support.

Well, I used to think the same about using an SSD on the PS3... Then I ended up having to install one to test some things, and DAMN, hahah. For me, it's a game-changer. I know that the PS3 wouldn't benefit that much from using it and that it's hit and miss, but my games, the XMB, and etc. are much, much faster.

My fork of HEN does some remaps and reloads,. Every time I enable HEN on HDD the XMB loads the icons for about 5 seconds before I can move around. Now with the SSD, it's instant.

4.25 can't be directly converted to CFW. You need to update it to at least 4.75 (actually it's better to update it to the latest version, 4.90) then use bgtoolset to install CFW.

Hi,
Just a few hours after I wrote my last response to your question a new OFW (4.91) was released. Do not update to it because it'll take a while before a new CFW is released and bgtoolset is updated to support it, and furthermore if you install it you will not be able to downgrade back and will have to wait until there's proper support, which can take between a couple of weeks and a couple of months.
Do not update via the Internet because it'll update to 4.91. Instead download 4.90 from the firmware archive then use bgtoolset. Once a 4.91 based CFW is released you will not have to run the jailbreak again to update.
 
Hi, today i've swapped hdd in my PS3 to i need to reinstall cfw but i can't. I've prepared usb driver with this cfw (fat32, PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP), it was also installed in on previous hdd. But when i try to install it via recovery mode (statrt+select) it trows back message that no update was found. Any ideas?

Tried CEX and PEX - the same effect. Tried with two usb sticks.

Remove all USB and any PS3 disc from the Bluray drive. Then insert only one pendrive.

Try using a different pendrive or a CD if the error persists.
 
@aldostools tried that already :( two separate usb sticks, bd drive is empty, even tried to unplug gamepad right after pushing start+select. And file name is ok (PS3UPDAT.PUP). Is there any other 4.90 cfw? Or which options in mfw builder i need to choose to make a cfw? I need bare cfw to install 4.90 evilnat later from xmb.

All versions of Evilnat 4.90 are available in this folder:

As a last option you could install HFW 4.90+HEN or OFW 4.90, then use bgtoolset to jailbreak your console again. Do not install 4.91 yet.

NOTE: HFW & OFW are the dual boot versions for CFW. They should let you reinstall CFW without jailbreak again the PS3.

Is the USB disk recognized in XMB? It should be seen under the Photos / Music / Videos tabs.
If it's not there then it's not MBR-FAT32 formatted.

Yes, i've used that thumb drive to jailbreak this ps3, via toolset, to install cfw and pkg, so PS3 is able to detect that drive at least in XMB.

I've even downgraded to 3.55 - putting back old hdd, downgrade, then installing new hdd - but the same effect - no update detected in safe mode.

I've tried yet another thumb drive, really old, 4GB and it works :D
 
its asking me for a decryption key :(
long time without updating or even toucjing my ps3 n came back today to play a bit n cant update it to this firmware bcs when i download it it says i need a key #help
