PS3 4.93 Evilnat w/ Cobra v8.5 - (CEX/PEX/D-PEX) 4.93

I need help, I couldn't download the cex/pex one on my ps3 slim because it says "The Data is corrupted" at 70%. I m very new to ps3 modding and my ps3 does not have any HEN or OFW or CFW. its just a normal ps3 slim that I want to mod. please help, thank you.

HEN, on the other hand, is an awesome alternative to CFW that can be installed on ALL models. Coro made a nice guide to get you started: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/guide-how-to-install-hen.33584/.
Do note that if you're on the most recent firmware, you will need to wait until either bgtoolset or HEN are updated to support 4.91 version. Keep checking the forum in the next days

Make sure you enable that option in the custom firmware tools cex2dex menu, because afaik it's not enabled by default and if you try to install DEX OFW without enabling it first it will brick your PS3.
Also note that DEX OFW will not play homebrew or backups out of the box. To get DEX OFW to play anything you need to resign the executables as debug versions. It also does not include backwards compatibility (neither PS1 nor PS2) nor movie playback support (DVD / Blu-Ray). It will play retail PS3 discs, but only originals, not BD-R (it will play BD-R containing debug versions though).

I thought I'd ask everyone on 4.91 CEX what their experience has been like with the latest build? I have yet to update myself as I've been waiting for all the fixes to be applied and all the bugs addressed. My sense is that the latest one is more stable.

Would now be a good time to update or will it improve over the coming days? I'm currently on 4.90 CEX.

Question, i was able to jailbreak my new ps3 due it to it being on 4.86, i went to rebug 4.84 dex. i wasnt able to play online on a cod game so i heard i should try evilnat 4.91 as they were able to play it on 4.91. i wanna use these dex non hosts for recoveries but when i wnt on dex evilnat i couldnt sign it bc well its dex, how do i make it to where like rebug dex, i can spoof the eid5 and go online on dex evilnat

Why would it. DEX is for game developers, and you can't develop PS1 / PS2 games on a PS3 - they have their own devkits. tbh it's a bit weird that PS3 devkits play retail games at all - devkits of most other consoles can only play debug builds.

Why are you on DEX in the first place? DEX is only needed if you develop homebrew or need TMAPI.
Also, I'm not sure which CoD you were trying to play but if it's BO2 or a later title in the franchise you need an anti-ban EBOOT.

How does trophyunlocker actually work? L2 does nothing when it tells you to, either in game or in-game xmb

Trophy unlocker has compatibility with each game. below are some special cases Im aware of.

Some games, menu window doesn't open. however information on top right will be displayed thees.
in my case, all sony games I own. such as Flower, Journey, and Afrika, etc.. these couldnt be unlocked because window not open.

Also, some games load trophy data at first. these open menu window, but trophies not be displayed and unlock function wont be available.
(ex. Ultimate Sega Genesis Collection)

Some games display menu window stretched. its just weird display, but doesn't affect unlock function itself. (ex. Outrun Online Arcade)

I tested trophy unrocker plugin on 4.91 and 4.81, and the situation was the same on both FW for all games.

Installing OFW DEX after enabling it on a backwards compatible CHECHA should in theory essenially make the converted DEX CHECHA now a DECHA00A. It is backwards compatible/region free with PS1 and PS2, no CFW required. That's why I found it odd that OFW DEX when or if enabled on a CFW CHECHA would be any different. The DECHA00A has the EE+GS chip in it as well as the PS1 emulation like the retail 60GB. Only the DECHJ and the slim test units aren't backwards compatible with PS2. Those do play PS1 games though like the retail models. The DECHA00A is analogous to the 60GB, DECHJ00A is analogous to the later non-PS2 BC phat models, and the test slims are analogous to the retail slim.

All CFW on a DECHA00A would do, is simply make it even better.

It really doesn't matter. PEX and D-PEX are identical. The only difference is that PEX is for systems currently on CEX and D-PEX is for systems currently on DEX. Once you install either there's zero difference.

i installed 4.90 evil nat before the new update. but i don't recall what version of these i installed.
