Hi Guys,

After setting up a new PC and installing aldos tools (something i have used for years without issues). Now when i right click and go to create PKG, nothing happens!
I can extract PKGs just fine, but it will not package up.

Anyone have any ideas on what is missing?

run the exe at least once as admin. it will create the short cut in right click menu.

Thanks for the reply @Coro

I do have all the options in my right clcik menu and everything works. The issue isnt with that side of of it. The issue I'm facing is when I click on a PKG FOLDER I have UNPACKED, EDITED and wish to REPACK. When I select "Make PKG" nothing happnes and the program does not start!?!

Check if your AV sent the program PKG_ContentID.exe to quarantine.

That tool is reported as malware by several AV because it associates it to Windows folders, which is used fo show the right click menu on the folders.

Hey @aldostools

No, nothing showing in quarantine and I can run the program as a standalone (directly from the ps3tools folder). Its just like the right click option isnt linking to the program.

Try removing the file associations running:
%userprofile%\ps3tools\ps3tools\tools\registry patches\remove_ps3tools_file_associations.reg

Then execute PKG_ContentID.exe or reinstall the tools (running them as Administrator).

Sorry for late reply.

Did the above and removed the associations and re ran the
PKG_ContentID.exe as Administrator. Still nothing.
When I get chance today I'm going to remove the associations again and then delete the
%userprofile%\ps3tools folder and reinstall as Administrator.

I will keep you posted.

I have managed to resolve the issue.
After uninstalling and reinstalling the toolset, adding the exceptions into DEP, it still was not working.

In the end, I added PKG FILE to the DEP exceptions as well and now its working just fine.
I dont believe I have ever added that before but it seems to have done the trick.

As usual thanks for the replys guys. means alot!
