PS2 Apollo Save Tool PS2 (development thread)

Could Apollo be launched with args and have an arg to point "back" to an ELF for example (and launch that with an arg)?

my only comment would be similar to the one already mentioned, some people might have too bright screens and they could report that they can't see the screen or read the text / icons. So maybe we can turn the columns/icons/text more dark or increase contrast?

if you have any code example or reference I think this can be added. Apollo is using SDL2 but hopefully argc/argv don't get altered by any of the SDL init stuff.

also, about your question of 3D icons, honestly all the Apollo GUI stuff is 2D and really simple, I never did 3D stuff and don't want to mess with that. But if someone wants to do it and then open a PR on Github, I'll be happy to review/merge such improvement :)
 
I wanted to open the .elf file by all possible means. As much as I tried, when I launch it from the USB I just get a black screen and nothing happens after... I thought maybe the problem was because my USB was in exFAT format so I moved the file to the memory card and, to my surprise, the same thing happened: black screen.

In addition, I made fully visible not active options instead to those from earlier preview.

I think you should adjust the contrast between the items and the background a bit. Try making the background darker so the objects at the front can be noticed better. One more thing, instead of multiple colors for the object's name, give them a dark brown. It will fit the style better IMO.

I have a new build to test, now Apollo can manage .VMC images (for example vmc images from OPL)

So Apollo can browse and supports import/export saves from VMC images. For example you can copy saves from VMC to real MCs
VMC files (extension .vmc or .vm2) are scanned from mass:/VMC , mass:/PS2/VMC (also supports host:/ )

any testers around with a PS2, some memory cards and a few .vmc files to test it out? just reply and I'll share the download link
 
Thank you for this! This is a really nice tool and once MX4SIO- (OPL VMC-Folder) and active card-switching (Game-ID-Transmission) for MemoryCard-Emulators is implemented, this will be the best tool to use regarding saves! :)
