PS3 HAN Avoiding ban risks when using HAN

Can some experienced people detail steps to undertake to not become an obvious target if a ban wave occurs? And yes, any one can get banned at any given time, I just want to ensure I'm taking the right steps.

Also, is signing into PSN fine?
 
Also, wouldn't the ban risk be minimal anyways due to the proxy?

I had to manually update to 4.82 via USB and not straight to 4.83.
 
To be safe, I wouldn't connect to PSN or use the internet connection on the PS3 unless you absolutely need to, once HAN is installed on your system you can use HAN Toolbox to activate HAN offline so there's no need for internet unless you use your PS3 for other reasons.
 
The ban shouldnt be as common since you have to connect to a proxy server in order to bring 4.82 online with psn,which is the only firmware that works with han.To avoid a ban just dont join a lobby with a modder or use a modded psn account on a han ps3.
