PS3 BC PS3 and PS2 games not fullscreen

Hi, i have been playng some PS2 iso games on a CECHB01 console, the TV is 4K, but somehow the games even with the "fullscreen" option enabled are never really fullscreen, maybe half of it but still better than 4:3.
Somehow PS2 originals titles from the PSN store work at real FULLSCREEN and by that i mean actually covering the entire screen like a normal PS3 game, can someone explain to me why this is happening ?

That's how the original PS2 outputs on HDTVs. The aspect ratio is correct on CECHC/E models and netemu but incorrect on PS2 and CECHA/B when using an HDTV.

So , its Better to play ps2 classics or the iso BC has more fidelity?

Honestly, I am still unclear on to which has better video output. It doesn't matter in the end as both are good.

I would go with full BC (ps2_emu) to ensure maximum compatibility and performance. It would be a waste to use netemu on a CECHB.

I remember testing PS2_EMU on my CECHA01 (it's YLOD at the moment) w/ scaling turned off and it seemed like my TV was doing a much better job upscaling the image. I remember thinking it looked just as good as GXEMU.

That is because the PS2's aspect ratio when outputted to an HDTV is incorrect. I did not know this for a long time until recently as I always thought PS2 was the "correct" one.

Here is a simple comparison:

CECHA has the same output as PS2. When set to full screen, the display has black bars on the sides of the screen while CECHC does not. When on a CRT, the aspect ratio is closer to that of CECHC/E and netemu.

Therefore, the PS2 and CECHA/B's aspect ratios are horizontally squished and are incorrect, while CECHC/E and netemu are correct.

@Leonardo Meireles He states that CECHC/E produces a wider aspect ratio than CECHA/B (which is true), and he also states that they are "not positive" if it is more correct. Anyone can tell that the image on the left is horizontally squashed compared to how it is supposed to look, and the image on the right is much more close to perfectly round.
