i can only recommend trying ISO. folder format is mostly used by pirates who are sharing old rips that are buggy. it is not really an "acceptable" option (unless you must rip your pkg games from your internal hdd).

i try make iso from multiman but its same result a back screen . the games that give black screen they work perfectly (no black screen )
when they launch from external hard drive ..when it copied to ps3 hard drive it give black screen .and they are the same copy. its mean thoes games that copied to internal ps3 and give black screen .only work on external hard drive

Have you ever replaced the internal HDD? If it's really old it might just be bad sectors. Hard drives are subject to wear after all. Try using a new HDD / SSD.

it's not related to hard drive. it should at less boot up . and freeze in certain point . or graphic issues . i try on different consoles (cfw and hen) i end up with black screen . why the hill the those games only work from external hard drivae and not from internal hard drive .

Mind sharing the names of said games?

I have similar problems, when loading PSX Bins on my HEN-enabled PS3 Super Slim, but only from an external hard drive. Could this be related? And would converting them to ISO help solve that problem?

i never had any luck with ps1 iso on ps3. IIRC i always used bin+cue. do you have a cue file with the bin?

Of course. The files are single Bin, single Cue. And it occurs on occasion. In most cases, its only after loading the second or third game. Or sometimes at the first loading of the first game. Usually when it hangs, I have to turn it off, wait a few seconds and turn it back on.

hmm...i would try defragmenting the drive (or perhaps just the bins if the drive is very large).
This should only be done on traditional HDDs. I don't know whether they replaced it with an SSD or not but if they did then defragmenting would not help and just wear down the drive.
