PS2 Bounty for PSX DESR model drive swap mod

DESR models have additional hardware and executable's to handle extra stuff. So no, XMB protoplast cannot work on SCPH models. They have even more than twice of RAM.

DESRs are ultimate PS2 construction with ultimate failure factors.

Not the same. Screen grabbing means loosing quality during signal lost, upscalling and transcodding. On DESRs, You loosing only on transcodding.

I am not sure if the XMB/PSX Menu could run on a consumer PS2. It might be possible with a lot of work...

@PanMann No, project (without any name yet) was mentioned on PS2Scene discord channel few months ago and so far no any news about it. But fingers crossed. ^^

I have one that has been sitting for over a decade. They are just a coolest piece of kit ever. The granddaddy XMB I did the translation and shortly thereafter the 160gb HDD died. Probably to late but I have been trying to follow this for years.

It happened to me aswell, it looks like writing to the HDD kills the HDD.
