CAN I REVERT TO NORMAL PS3 OPERATING SYSTEM

context my son put this on my ps3 then when i got it back off him i put it in a cupboard for about 3 years then when i went to use it found he had jailbroke it so would just like to restore it to standard thanks lol

Yeah just install the latest PS3 firmware and it will revert to stock. Had mine done for 8+ years issue free. But yes you can.

Why do You want cripple Your console? At least, before going to OFW, read EID Root Key (if You have CFW installed) and IDPS, so You will be able to read HDD on PC (if i.e PS3 die and You have there data which want to retrieve) and resign saves (if You want use them on different console/account).

Tried that just kept saying can't find any update files

Put OFW package here: "dev_usb000/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP"
Mass storage must be FAT32 on MBR. Nothing else is supported.

However, if You will not clean HDD from hack traces, You will risking of account and console ban.
