Hello there everyone,

I recently bought a modded ps3 and it had multiman installed and the *install packages folder, and that is pretty much it, can anyone help me recognize what is the state of this ps3? is it Jailbroken? is it possible to install CFW Rebug on it? Do i have CFW ?

Thanks in advance.

Slim model, CECH-2503A, DATA CODE: 0D, firmware 4.60.

yes i think it is. try to install rebug rex 4.84.2 or evilnat 4.89.3 (coming out very soon). if it gives an error code, post the number here.

You are most certainly on CFW.
There are two ways of running PS3 homebrew (e.g., multiman) - CFW and HEN, and HEN requires you to enable it every time you restart your console (there's an icon in XMB), so if multiman works without having to do anything prior then you're probably on CFW.

thank you for your responses,
one more question I have is do I have to update my CFW to install rebug or ferrox ?
can you link me a guide that explains how to do that ?
i apologize as i am pretty much a noob when it comes to CFW and firmware as a whole.

Rebug and Ferrox are no longer maintained. The only up-to-date CFW is Evilnat, which is the recommended firmware for most people (the only exception being homebrew developers). The most recent version is Evilnat 4.89.2 (although 4.89.3 is in beta).
Since you're already on CFW you don't need to go through any hoops to install the CFW of your choice. Just install it as you would install any firmware update from USB. CFW also allows you to downgrade back if needed so there's no reason not to be on the latest version.
