Can't launch PS2 Classics (CECHL01 Evilnat CFW 4.90 noBD)

So recently the connector for my blu-ray drive broke while I was cleaning the dust off of my motherboard and I installed noBD to get past the issue of games not booting, only problem is that now my PS3 isn't able to launch ANY of my PS2 classics that I have installed. I've had them installed for multiple years and they all worked just fine prior to losing the ability to use my blu-ray drive. I've checked to see if it was a video resolution issue, it isn't. The HDD light goes off when booting into the game along with my dualshock 3 losing connection, so I'm almost positive its something related to noBD. Has anyone else had this problem and can it be fixed without needing to downgrade or replacing the connector?

try downgrading to this > https://www.psx-place.com/threads/modified-rebug-4-86-1-lite-for-broken-ps3-nobt-nobd-rsod.28922/
evilnat has some troubles with ps2 games if this doesnt fix it then idk

says PS2 Emulation is not supported which is what PS2 Classics are

IIRC. PS2Classics don't work if your BD Module is dead.. noBD FW + working BD Drive should work fine though..

I thought noBD firmware always breaks backwards compatibility (with both PS1 and PS2) - if that's not the case why do you even need the regular CFW variant?

by default it just simulates bddriver of cech25xx.. and this just disables physical BD read capability.. i don't know why this is done this way.. maybe there's a better way to do no BD in lv1..
