Hi! I recently found myself in possession of a PS3 and was looking on how to jailbreak it. The OFW was 4.93 so I determined installing HFW 4.93.1 and then HEN would be the right way to go.
Installing HFW went fine (and can confirm it is HFW due to the license text). However, installing HEN turned out to be quite a bit more difficult; I tried various methods until I landed on the 'set browser startup to the ps3exploit.me auto install' approach which worked; the exploit initialized successfully, exited the browser showing 'welcome to HEN 3.5.0', downloaded the pkg, showed up a popup 'installation complete, prepare for reboot' after which the PS3 restarted and I saw the PS3HEN logo on startup and the 'enable HEN' entry was added to the Games menu.
However, clicking 'enable HEN' just pops up a white page, then shows a HEN logo and eventually comes back to the XMB. My understanding is that at this point, HEN should be enabled and Package Manager should be visible but it is not. I have tried without WiFi, holding down R2/L2 while clicking but nothing seems to make things progress any further.
As I understand the installer should also work as an enabler if HEN is already installed, I tried also to enable through it. Directly after the initial install, the exploit fails after 'installer initialized' and 'installing HEN' with 'HEN failure! Restart PS and retry'. After restarting, the exploit again successfully initializes the installer but then after 'installing HEN' it just closes the browser with nothing further and new tries result in the HEN failure.
Anything else I could try? All ideas, tips or pointers more than welcome.
I will also add that I have tried the various methods on ps3addict too and all of them fail. They all slowly initialize up to 100% and then report a failure. Only the ps3xploit.me auto method seems to work and it works practically instantly.
