PS3HEN CECHA00 HFW Firmware update path

I just had the opportunity to get a fat PS3 CECHA00 and I have a simple goal to put my PS2 library on it.

I had a fat PS2 with messiah 2 Pro on it so my library is mostly composed of US & EU games but I have some JP too. I added some years ago a hard disk on the PS2 and started to convert some of them to ISO to use with HDLoader because the optic drive was make some worrying noises. If I could skip the convert process for them that would be nice too.

Anyway I am now with a PS3 CECHA00 on OFW 4.89 (seller wiped the console and updated the firmware prior to the sale) and with the current situation with ps3xploit (which seems to have been the best/safe way to jailbreak a PS3) I am looking for another safe way to be able to jailbreak my PS3 and add the necessary packages to convert PS2 discs & ISO to PS3 packages.

So far I have identified the HEN should be an alternative to CFW but for the "PS2 games to PS3" part I am lost (I have found some old packages that do not seem to work on HFW 4.89) any pointer to a safe way to do it on 4.89 HFW would be appreciated (packages name would be nice)

You could use Apollo save tool to convert the iso to a encrypted PS2 bin and use PS2 placeholder to play it and dump your PS2 games with multiman but, you can't mount isos and use the PS3 hardware emulation the only way in hen is to use the PS2 classics emulator

The converter should be in user tools in apoloo save tool
 
Evilnat's CFW is a viable option since you have a fat (lucky CECHA model owner too...)

HFW doesn't support 4.90 yet but I believe CFW does

That is a model that can install CFW,

Since on 4.89 OFW, best advice i have is wait just a bit days / weeks for all the projects on 4.90 to be released. As there was just a recent firmware update.

4.89 has dangerous bugged ps3 toolsets (they are not the original and are incomplete)

4.90 will have a safe method, but not released yet in testing.
