PS3 CFW 4.82 to CFW 4.90 Evilnat

Hello,

I would like to update my old PS3 to the new CFW Evilnat made.

My current CFW - I still have a blu ray drive

So I don't know which version I should install ?

As long as your BD drive and WiFi/Bluetooth is working fine, I would suggest either of the following:

Download: CFW Evilnat 4.90 Cobra 8.4 [PEX] [CEX]
Or
Download: CFW Evilnat 4.90 Cobra 8.4 [CEX]

The first is PEX which is Ported DEX from official DEX 4.84 firmware to 4.90 firmware, installable on CEX CFW like yours is now. It is therefore a hybrid of CEX+DEX and you can convert between the two modes with a few steps. It will run like your CFW now, but you have the ability to convert to DEX (Debug/developer) mode, which most users will never need - but the option is there.

The second link is more akin to what you have now, insofar as it is purely CEX (Consumer/retail) firmware. I would recommend the latter if you have no need for the additional features, which would require you to convert to DEX mode and like I said, most users will never need nor want those extra capabilities. I should upgrade to from 4.86 ferrox..
If you don't have special needs (like debug mode) cex is fine, if you need more but you haven't a dex unit, pex

I should upgrade to from 4.86 ferrox..

I'm still on 4.87 Ferrox Cobra myself lol but I have used Evilnat 4.89 and 4.90 and had a look through all the CFW tools in the Network XMB column. Plus, it has the updated Cobra payload from v8.2 to v8.4.
