CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX)

PS3 CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX) -

is it possible to disable this? "Block Log In on PSN/SEN when CFW syscalls are enabled (by DeViL303)"
I don't enable protection to remove syscalls it bothers me and I would like to continue using this cfw , but only if there is a way to remove this block!

Yes, go to xai_plugin and select ★ Custom Firmware Tools > Cobra Tools > Disable PSN Protection

Question about this, how to know if the console has overheating issues, do we monitor the temperatures somehow while playing or?

So I have tried this a bit on quite a few models. My NAND based systems run much warmer then normal over 12°f on two systems. I have had artifacts while playing. I do not suggest it if you have a NAND based PS3. I have done a bit to ensure the system runs cooler then normal. And if I am honest the results are not spectacular. Really only "see" the difference when I run two systems side by side. The fan control keeps going up and down often.

Using my slim systems I didn't have any issues and temps were not that big of a difference. And in my experience I haven't seen any real red flags as to why I should not use the OC.

I do not have any NOR based phat systems so no input there. But you can install and setup Akari plugin. It will allow you to monitor the temps and FPS while in game. I would suggest this if you want to do it. I am not saying the OC will make your PS3 blow up just my experience. My slims are all on OC but my two BC models are normal clock speeds.

No, I'm on a 2tb (internal) HDD. I've tried / checked the system and as much i can tell the target ID is the retail (87) one.

I'll look into the fan now as well (but I think - if WMM uses the dynamic fan control - it's on the default setting)

I had similar issues but wasn't the firmware. 2tb isn't fully supported by the PS3. Officially 1tb is the highest supported but I have been running a 1.75tb internal for years. Issues seem to arise over that. Some intermittent and if your file system crashes and you rebuild it will fuss up every time.

I was so excited hearing someone had gotten a 2tb working but they eventually had the same issues. I believe it's anything over 1.82tb can suss up but tis been a while since I looked into it. I know the post is still here on the forums.

IIRC its a 4.89 issue, i can't confirm it now, but i had this before not on Nat's fw but i don't remember if the layout fix was applied or not or if i was messing with the files.

Yeah it's 252 as I was looking into PAL exclusive games when I found out about Hell Night by Atlus. Think there is like 6-7 PAL exclusive games that have libcrypt and none were must have IMO. Then again the PS1 never held up well for me.

I can confirm that it is working fine with a clean installation, someone on twitter told me the same issue and he had installed PS3 Gameboot, re-installed the CFW and it worked again

What do you mean with "clean installation"?

I installed 4.89.3 Evilnat [PEX][OC] then installed Ultimate Toolbox, and the XMB layout was wrong.

I reinstalled 4.89.3 Evilnat [PEX][OC] without anything else and the problem persists:

Another issue is PS2 ISOs are not detected on Mamba 8.4.
EDIT: I fixed the issue and updated boot_mamba.pkg in Github

I think this issue is because the VSH and explore_plugin hashes could have changed.

I tried a build with the same hashes of Cobra, but Mamba doesn't load.
Do you have a working Mamba for PEX?
Mamba 8.4 never loaded PS2 iso since CFW4.89.2 for me it loaded fine on Cobra 8.3 CFW 4.89.2 just not through Mamba . It still loads fine through CFW 4.89.3 Cobra 8.4

PS2 iso worked for me on Evilnat 4.89 with sandunga's patches + Ultimate Toolbox installed.

EDIT: I have fixed the issue in 4.89.3. You can use this PKG
https://github.com/aldostools/Resources/releases/download/Addons/boot_mamba.pkg

By the way I found something interesting: the update layout works fine if Cobra & Mamba are disabled. So, it seems that there is some patch in payload that is breaking the layout.

However the impose layout is still broken with the custom RCOs.

Should i enable some settings to get back my ps2isos to work??
I ve tested kof collection, fatal fury vol1 and street fighter collection, and only the last worked. Console frezzes and dont turn off, only unplugging power cable.

@Evilnat only patched the layout to work with the 4.84 modules needed for DEX, so impose screen from 4.88 will still have issues.

Interesting this image of the ps3 control on the screen, how did you insert it?
