CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX)

PS3 CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX) -

remember that only gets the frequency! not sets it! the range of possible frequencies is available in haxxxen's ps3mfwbuilder-mod repository.

https://github.com/haxxxen/ps3mfw-builder-0.2.1-mod
Done, I have modified the option to show RSX frequency, now it should work without any issues:

THOSE PKGs ARE NOT AVAILABLE TROUGH XAI_UPDATER BECAUSE ARE BETA
This is the current changelog fro v1.3:

    • Fixed [Check GPU/VRAM clock speed] option (thanks to zecoxao and M4j0r) NOT WORKING
    • Updated FTP server (Experimental, maybe this option will be removed)
    • Fixed libCrypt for PSX games (thanks to aldostools)
    • Enabled [Install All Packages] in non QA flagged PS3
    • Added german language in xai_plugin (thanks to FadedHD3)
    • Updated french language in xai_plugin (thanks to EimGdt and Chronoss09)

Updated in this post

Hi there,
Thats what I have "sync issues"
Two days ago my fat ps3 developed a problem and I had to format the HDD.

The Ps3 boot sequence is now slow, and was not before this.

Now when the console is on sleep mode and I press the PS button the controller does not sync because the ps3 takes a lot more time to boot up the system and even with the controller blinking the ps3 does not connect it. But if I insert the usb clable and remove it does sync.

If I turn on the PS3 by hand and wait 10 seconds to press the PS button, that way the remote controller syncs, or if I use the usb cable also syncs.

I found if I disable cobra the ps3 boots fine, and the controller syncs perfectly, also the booting time is normal for HDD time to boot up.

I have the same problem on SSD and HDD.

The problems started after the console encoutered an error and the only option that worked was formating the OS. The other ones on the recovery freezed the system.

Im using Evilnat 4.89.3 OC cex/pex since the release date by Evilnat

Things I´ve done to try to fix it:

Formated the HDD many times, and installed evilnat 3.88.2 - Evilnat 4.89 and Evilnat 4.89.3 (Cobra 8.3 and 8.4) cex/pex, via xmb and on recovery
Bought/Installed a brand new SSD yesterday, I did same installations as mention before on the HDD, and nothing works as before.

Is this a bug or a semi-brick?

What can I do to solve it? This very annoying

If I downgrade it to 3.55OFW fix it? or just because it stores things on Nand im fu....?

Thanks in advance
If you have my latest version of the CFW the pad sync issue is not caused by mounting dev_usb000 on startup because I didn't add it in Cobra, but if you disable it and all is back to normal something must happen, the first thing that comes to mind is if you have disabled plugin loading and restart the ps3

Did you try to use option 1 and 3 in recovery menu?

I just did those options you said but no avail.

Let me explain better

1- When ps3 is in sleep mode the remote controller did turn on the ps3 by wireless, but after the ps3 beeps and turn on the remote looses connection, and all the lights blinks and never connect again then I have to connect a usb cable and after that its ok via wireless, but is very slow to enter on xmb (it takes a lot more time than usual to show icons) HDD and SSD is the same.

2- the problem is:
The cobra message doesnt appear when the ps3 enters to the xmb and I had it before.

3- why on the menu Cobra/Toggle Plugins when I click there it shows "unable to find /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt

It seems something is missing from initial boot reading.

After many tests I found the ps3 can boot and recognize as it was before, but in that case I need to go to Custom firmware tools/Cobra Tools/Togle Cobra and select disable cobra. That way the ps3 can boot fine and recognize the game controller.

The problem is:
Cannot have temperature control because it assumes syscon fan mode instead of lets say 40%
NO ftp access because cobra is OFF and even blackbox ftp doesnt work

My question is what is slowing down the boot sequence? My other PS3 are fine except this one, this ps3 was running perfect before that error on the OS.
The error message was something like that "ps3 encountered an error and the hdd needed to be formated YES/NO" If I choose NO nothing will happen I did try it before, then the only option was FORMAT and I removed the HDD and put inside an SSD, but after that it stays slow to boot and same problems. Then I removed the SSD and replaced with the HDD again...the message to check the hdd shows up and I ended up formating the hdd also thinking maybe this time it will be normal again, but no.

I have no ideas and know how, I need your help.

Thanks

1 - Did you use the same HDD (not the SSD) from that PS3 in another one? And formatted it in the PC and then install the CFW from Recovery Menu?

2 - I think you mean the message that appears when loading webMAN MOD showing the PS3 info (Cobra and FW version). boot_plugins.txt does not exist and the PS3 can't load plugins

3 - If Toggle Plugins shows that message it means that the PS3 is not loading any plugins, probably for having loaded the recovery menu, this will remove boot_plugins.txt to avoid issues with plugins. You need to install plugins again, like webMAN MOD, etc...

Your question about slowing down the boot sequence I don't know, the first thing that comes to mind is that something could be wrong in NOR/NAND, HDD failure, something with Cobra...

Do you have Linux installed in the HDD or installed Petitboot?

1- No, I did not used it on another ps3. only tryed to read it on the laptop, but it doesnt show anything. but it was formated on the same ps3.

2- yes you are correct I did install webmanmod but the system remains slow, and the message didnt show up also showing the PS3 info (Cobra and FW version) but its there and working when I press R1+R2 i have the info about temperature/speed and firmware info.
But when the ps3 reboots never shows it since this problem beggins

3 Yes webman mod is installed now and boot_plugins.txt is there now.

This is a CECHG with only 98days of useI bought it new in 2007 or 2008 its a NAND ps3. The system is slow even with the brand new SSD when the Cobra is enabled.

If I disable cobra the system is not slow on SSD and HDD

No i dont have linux and never turned that feature on

Is there anyway to check or perform any test to see where is the problem? If the problem is in the NAND I have the backup...when I update the firmware it goes to the NAND correct, or only partially?

Do I need xai plugin installed? this is a fresh install and i did not updated it yet, before ear from you first
