CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX)

PS3 CFW 4.89.3 Evilnat Cobra (8.4) (CEX/DEX/PEX) -

I get error 8002F957 on 71% of update on CECHG04.
Any help??

0x8002F957 = Error with installing Firmware update. The data is corrupted (firmware in flash does not allow the MFW installation as it does not contain the needed patches)

You need to patch the console using ** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D... (NEW URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset/ from the console's PS3 Internet browser.

Follow this guide::
https://www.psx-place.com/threads/guide-jailbreaking-with-bgtoolset.33461/

If you're already on OFW 4.89, you'll have to wait until bgtoolset is updated to support 4.89.
It currently supports FW versions between 4.80 and 4.89. Meanwhile you can install HFW 4.89 and HEN 3.1.1.
In that case, follow this tutorial: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/auto-hen-installer-updated-for-4-89.34304/

I don't know if this is the right place to post, if not, then I'm sorry. I have a PS3 phat CECHH04.When I update to CFW 4.89 it get's to 68% then it gives a copy error. Does this mean that the CFW is not compatible with my PS3? Thank you for your support.

Read my post above. It also applies to you.

For this, I'd recommend Ferrox. It's the most "basic" of all the CFW, which is why I love it. The only downside is that it hasn't been updated since 4.87.
In my opinion, there are very important ones, don't delete act.dat, get the Q flag, get the cobra 8.3, it's very important, add 2 3 more and complete the cfw. I think such a cfw will work more efficiently evilnat I think it will be easy for him to make such a cfw, thank you very much evilnat

alright, so i was on 4.84 dex and switched back toe vilnat, once i switched i tried signing into psn but it kept saying i was cid banned even after switching CIDs, then it would tell me "an error has occurred, youve been signed out of psn" does anyone know a fix? everyone ive watched has told me the same thing and ive done it multiple times

By CID you mean IDPS? You definitely need to change it because once it's banned it's banned for good, and you can't use a publicly known IDPS because those are extremely likely to have already been banned. You'll need to buy one and hope the seller isn't a scammer who sells the same IDPS to multiple people. Also try using another PSN account, because Sony has been known to ban both the console and the entire user account. Yes, it does mean you lose all your trophies, even those you got on OFW consoles or even PS4/PS5. Don't use your main PSN account on a modded PS3.

Developer Brothers,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to install the original Sony update 4.88 in order to get rid of the hack and install the modified CFW 4.88 update, unfortunately this is the problem. There is no choice but to wait for Downgrade 4.89 or if you know another way, do not forget to inform us, currently my device is hacked with HEN HFW 4.88, I also tried Recovery Mode but to no avail knowing that my device accepts Downgrade and can go back to 3.55 or lower my device starts with 200 is very old.

Sorry for being dumb, I am already on CFW 4.88, do I have to repeat the steps (ps3xploit and CFW install) or only the CFW 4.89 for upgrade? Thanks.

My friend, I understood you well, you are on CFW 4.88 and you want to install CFW 4.89 to play, for example, online, only if you have purchased a new console ID and installed it. The method is very easy. You only need to download the modified CFW 4.89 update for the developer brother Evilnat and install it. Flash it to FAT 32 format, then create a file and name it "PS3", then create a file inside it and name it "UPDATE", then put the modified update file inside it and go to the System Update option, then click on the second option and do the installation process, beware that The electrician because the PS3, God forbid, has problems.

My device is hacked HEN HFW 4.89 and I want to do a Downgrade to be able to install Custom 4.89, but currently it is not available waiting for the release of the Downgrade brothers for Custom 4.89, currently if you are on update 4.89 and I wanted to install the original 4.88 update, unfortunately it is not possible at the moment because you will need the Downgrade feature for 4.89, I contacted one of the developers and he told me that the Downgrade is there but is under trial, frankly, this time they delayed its release because they encountered problems such as: Reverting to An old update or less, and this is what made them delay almost a lot. This is the reason, and God knows best. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to install the Downgrade update 4.89 because it is not available at the moment. I hope they will release it soon.

    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Convert Savedata
    • Wait until the conversion finishes
    • Once finished, copy your converted savedata throught XMB "Saved Data Utility (PS3)"
    • Launch your game and load your new savedata

    .Creation of act.dat tutorial

WARNING: The accountID is linked to savedata and trophies, so, if your current user already have a valid accountID and you overwrite it, you will be unable to use your trophies and savedata on that account until you restore the original accountID in xRegistry.sys.

I recommend to use an empty account without trophies and savedata or an account without accountID.

To create a fake act.dat, Cobra 8.3 must be enabled, and your PS3 must have at least one account with a valid accountID and launch a game that requires a RIF/RAP license file.

Cobra will search a valid accountID in all existing accounts and create act.dat while the game is launched through the XMB. If no accountID is found, act.dat will not be created.

You can create a fake accountID (like reactPSN), to do this go to Network > ★ Custom Firmware Tools > PSN Tools and choose between "Create accountID" or "Overwrite accountID" (Be careful about the last option because if you already have a fake/real accountID it will be overwritten). It is recommended to use these options in an account that does not have an ID. The PS3 will restart if everything went well.

The tutorial would be the following:
    • Download your purchased PSN game from PS Store
    • Put game RAP file in "X:\exdata" or "/dev_hdd0/exdata"
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Cobra will check if any of your PS3 accounts have accountID
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

If none of your accounts have a valid accountID you will need to create it. To do this log into the local PS3 account where you want to create the accountID. You can see if your current local account has an accountID choosing Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Show accountID.

To create a faked act.dat do the following:
    • Make sure Cobra 8.3 is enabled
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Create accountID
    • Select Network Tab > [★ Custom Firmware Tools] > PSN Tools > Activate account
    • Launch your purchased PSN game
    • Faked act.dat will be created while the game is launching

Now you have a faked act.dat and your local account is activated. The act.dat file works for every local account, you only need one file for all accounts.

    .Block PSN log in

This method is developed by @DeViL303, it will only work with Cobra enabled, Cobra will block log in on PSN/SEN while the CFW syscalls are enabled, to enable it again you need to disable CFW syscalls completely (you can do it with webMAN MOD, psnpatch, SEN Enabler, etc…).

If you want to disable this feature, simply delete /dev_flash/vsh/resource/npsignin_plugin.lck

For this, I'd recommend Ferrox. It's the most "basic" of all the CFW, which is why I love it. The only downside is that it hasn't been updated since 4.87.
From what I remember, Alexander (the developer) had a computer failure and lost all the source code related to Ferrox.
I assume he didn't want to start again from scratch so probably 4.87 will be the last version available.

I know it's a shame because some users liked his clean and simple firmware.
