@Evilnat I did as you instructed and the PS2 fan works now. As soon as i gave dynamic fan control for the overall system back to wmm, the ps2 fan stopped working again.

@aldostools tldr: PS2 fan control doesn't work when running psn ps2 classics. However, the fan works as intended when launching games from the webMAN mod folder.

That's normal. Fan control only can detect PS2 games when they are mounted through webMAN MOD.

When PSN PS2 classics are launched, VSH is unloaded immediately and webMAN MOD is unable to change the fan settings.

Hi all,

First of all thanks Evilnat for all the hard work you put on this release!

I'm a little bit lost, I recently bought a PS3 fat retro compatible with 4.50 OFW. Never opened or jailbreak.

What are my options to install this CFW? I've seen that i can install the psxexploit, I've opened the zip file but it's html files. Should I put it directly on an USB drive and load it in the ps3 browser? Should I host it on a pc server?

Extra question: will I be able to benefit from hardware PS2 retro compatibility with isos? (that's why I've bought this model in the first place)

That information is included in the README.pdf included with the CFW and in several posts of this forum:

PEX means Ported DEX 4.84 to 4.89 (in other words: Rebug REX 4.84 ported to 4.89)

PEX is equivalent to Rebug REX = Hybrid CEX/DEX for retail consoles.
D-PEX is equivalent to Rebug D-REX = Hybrid CEX/DEX for DEX converted consoles.

CEX is equivalent to Rebug Lite = CEX with limited debug features

OC = Overclocked GPU & GDDR3 RAM Clocks to 600/750 Mhz

noBD / noBT / noBD+noBT = custom editions for consoles without or damaged Bluray Drive and/or damaged BlueTooth module

Which model did you get? Is it CECHA or CECHE?

Either way, yes I would say having the PS2 hardware is advantageous.
I prefer the CECHE as it cleans up PS2 graphics a bit more.

PS3 Slim CECH2501B - Tried Evilnat 4.89 CFW OC PEX and working smooth. @Evilnat Thank You! Tested a seagate 5TB exfat with managunz 1.4x and its a no go. All thats left would be huge ubs drives either ntfs and or exfat. Only some WD drives work.

CEX2DEX Tools menu missing and ps2 classics fan control not working cobra 8.3 this was not a problem I ran into this issue on 8.4 xai_plugin I installed it and ran it but neither the menu appeared nor the ps2 fan control worked.
