CFW2OFW Helper(can i use my own update file downloaded using ps3 games updates)

Hi good people,
I was wondering if i could use an update file which i downloaded using the ps3 game updates tool.Its an update for a disc game need for speed most wanted which i obtained from disk.i downloaded the update using the update tool.it is a 2gb file and as i have a slow internet connection it is hard for me to download it again using cfw2ofw helper.i tried to put the update pkg in the patch folder where it normally stores update data but it gives an error and does not download or use my update.any fix possible????

and i am using ps3xploit v3 on ps3 super slim 4.82ofw

put the updates you download using game updater or navigator into patch file when runnig CFW2OFW helper or when draging PS3_GAME in it the update will say local with green colorr

CFW2OFW uses sha-1 checksum to check if the original update is the same as you downloaded from other program
