PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

@Agrippa That one unfortunately won't work cause you can't combine 0x0A and 0x09 commands together, it will result in a black screen on boot.

Try this one @HeidenNaugler :

Disables shadows and environment maps and rain effect on car to increase performance. This gives about a 10-20% performance increase on PCSX2, but is untested as I don't have a PS3 with me currently.

Ok, quick testing was done.

1. I have used the original 1.01 version (the executable files are the same).
2. I have used the bumper cam camera.
3. I did not turn off upscaling and smoothing though.
4. The performance depends on the tracks. Heavy frame rate drops affect the timer. New Zealand SS1 stage clocks 3'53" in the game time versus 3'57" in the real life. But Greece SS1 (many dust particle effects) is 3'33" in game and 3'57" in real.
5. It does perform better overall, but I would still classify it as a "Major issues" due to the timer discrepancies. Rain effects are not disabled in the interior view though.

Hello everyone, can anyone fix any of these?

- Eternal Poison (SLUS_217.79): audio sync delay problems during FMVs (e.g.: new game intro scene); subtitles fade out during certain dialog scenes and part of the text becomes unreadable (e.g.: the first dialog as soon as you arrive in the first city right after the prologue).

- Growlanser V / Growlanser Heritage of War (SLUS_215.71): During dialogue scenes, there is a permanent, very noticeable black line across the face of the main character (the same happens with Growlanser II and III but the line is not really noticeable on those, so it is a minor problem).

- Wild Arms - Alter Code F (SLUS_209.37): during the initial intro scene, the dialog boxes start shaking heavily making it quite hard to read.

- Wild Arms 3 (SCUS_97.203): some issues were reported on another thread by @kozarovv "Game have minor text issue because of bad string in one of files. It will display some mess instead of your name, iirc. Issue is also on real ps2. I will post config for that later. Not sure that other issues exist.", but a custom config was never made available? (I'm not sure about this one).

I'm using Rebug Rex 4.84 and launching games (iso format) on a non-BC fat ps3.

Once again, thank you so much for all the work you guys have been doing regarding this stuff.

Try this for Eternal Poison:
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
00 00 00 00

maybe i am retard, but i didn't notice any issue on eternal poison, are u sure ur hd isn't corrupted?

I didn't notice rogue galaxy having more slowdowns than on real ps2 either.I am playing the game for 15 hours.

Does anyone have CECHC/E with gx_emu and USB mic and can test LifeLine (SLUS-20848)? I am interested on how it runs on there (since no USB support on netemu).

Also, I recently uncovered some videos of softemu running some games. Performance is pretty bad since RSX is emulating GS, but it is interesting to see how far software emulation has come on PS3:

Silent Hill 2:

Silent Hill 3:

Twisted Metal Black:

James's leg is still not working properly (carried over from gx_emu). I really want to downgrade to 3.55 to test out LifeLine on softemu...but I know performance will be very bad anyways, so I probably won't. Maybe a test for another day...

Try this for Eternal Poison:
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 21 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
00 00 00 00

Thank you very much for your time and trouble, really appreciate it.

Subtitles still fade out during some of the dialogues with part of the text becoming unreadable whenever there is a second line of text (if the chat happens to be voiced you can hear the words even though they are not displayed). I can't be sure if the fading out will only happen during voiced chat scenes, but if that's the case, the game is still playable as long as you play with the sound on. It fades out in the very first dialogue, becomes readable once you reach the first town, and fades away once you leave it - this always happens, with or without config. I've attached some examples. Thanks, once again!

@ex05 Thanks for providing images. I'll have to look at it and test some stuff when I have time. Config was actually meant for FMV audio desync, does it solve that at all?

It seems to slightly improve the New Game's initial FMV. There is a slight delay at the end of the first FMV when Thage speaks to the Majin Wolf that seems to be fixed when using the config. Thanks.

Update: had to create a blank memory card in order to access the prologue's FMV again. During the prologue's cutscene, there is still a noticeable delay even when using the provided config: the character's voice comes in before the mouth movements/body actions take place creating an out of sync sequence.

Completed the game. The game is indeed 100% playable, although even with both shadows and blur disabled there's still some slowdown/jittering, principally in the last chapter when the game throws a lot of flashy effects, a HUGE dungeon and lot of characters. Still is great to have Okage fully playable on ps3. :D Thanks again!

On a unrelated note, the wiki lists Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME (JP) as unplayable, but I have had no issues whatsoever playing on controller and I have already unlocked half of the songs.(converted iso to pkg through ps2classics gui if someone wonders)
Same goes for DDRMAX 2 (JP), however I encountered other bugs like some songs being mute. Very likely to be a bad iso though.

Was test today with iso v.2.00! For me look good, no slowdowns or freezes! Im test on my 4.55 Rogero!

Can't believe it. Try the Greece SS1 stage, for example. Turn on your stopwatch when the in game stage timer does start. And compare results at the end, there should be ~12% difference in time.

The performance is the best when using the bumper cam, I think.
