PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

To be honest, I have been playing with this game for a few days. I am able to improve the frame rate by setting the "NO-IPU Custom' to a negative value somewhere around -35000. It is just a workaround, since it will not make the game run the full speed. The performace depends on the stage, as far as I remember the snow stage is the worst. Feel free to find a happy medium.

Maybe some characters are more taxing to render. This game uses the highest polygon's count models in the whole series on the PS2!

someone on here plz edit
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
as fully playable, there is no minor issues on the game as ISO.

How is god of war 2 minor issues if it is impossible to save?also noticed there is a config does it fixes anything.

@Agrippa "It is interesting since on the list it is written that the frame rate is more stable in the 60 Hz mode (or maybe I do not understand the sentence correctly)."

Regarding the Tekken 4 compatibility, I assume (but I might be wrong) that the NTSC version of the game includes the same menu as the PAL version does where you are able to select PAL/50hz, NTSC/60Hz, or Progressive screen modes and that the commentaries in the wiki refer to the 60hz stability while testing the NTSC version of the game.

In my experience with the PAL version of the game, if you select the 60hz instead of the 50Hz you will get random artifact/glitches during FMVs and the console will freeze and automatically shut down (with a blinking red light).during Jin's ending FMV. Gameplay-wise (the combat itself) I can't notice any difference between the 50Hz and 60Hz modes, the game is equally fluid on both modes, but I might be wrong.

Nice find! NTSC version does not include 50Hz mode, but that's cool that PAL version fixes FMV problems/freezes.

The Matrix: Path of Neo (SLUS-21273)
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 0A 00 00 00 03 00 00 00
24 62 10 00 04 00 60 10 04 00 00 10 44 62 10 00
04 00 60 10 04 00 00 10 6C 62 10 00 04 00 40 10
04 00 00 10 00 00 00 00
Removes screen overlays and depth of field/blur to fix frame drops. Frame rate is now on-par with PS2 hardware in first 3 levels tested. There are still some screen flashes and glitches with text on main menu...unsure how to fix that. Otherwise, seems very playable now.
Was test right now! Glitches just in menu, first fight scene was good, just some slowdowns while fight, and some small glitches show when riot comes from elevator! Thanks for config! Im forgot im test it without any config 2 years ago...

Thanks for testing. Real PS2 hardware also has these slight slowdowns btw (on first level at least). ;)

Obviously it doesn't have the text glitches and minor screen flashes though. I like the filter effects as well, so it's unfortunate it can't run decently with them enabled.

DT Carnage also has heavy HUD dissappearing/appearing while racing, objects textures flickers and the game sometimes completely freezes... However, opening Debug menu and putting V-Sync to "Anytime Custom -1.000.000" fixes the freezes. is a config possible for this game ?

how the hell whoever came up with this config, knew that value would fix the freeze?

Well, few years ago i was desperate to play this game because it took big part of my childhood and i was tired of getting frozed while playing, so i decided to try out the secret debug menu stuff, it was when i found out the V-Sync on anytime custom -1.000.000 completely fixes the freezes in that game. *i also added the information on compatibility ps2 wiki about this game*

I am not sure if I did the math right, but you could try this one:
Code:
3D 00 00 00 57 44 00 00 48 00 00 00 03 00 00 00
C0 BD F0 FF 00 00 00 00

But it is a huge amount of delay. Are you sure the game speed is all right? The timer especially.

Thank you, ill try the config in a few minutes, and yes, the game runs perfectly with anytime custom -1.000.000, the loading times are faster though

Config works perfectly !! finally now i don't have to open the secret debug menu everytime i enter the game. Game is pretty much playable but with Minor issues because of the HUD and some background buildings textures flickering but nothing to worry about. Thank you !!

can vsynch delay make a game run slower?lego star wars run faster than it should.
Test it and see if it does any difference.

Tested two other games:

Tsugunai Atonement: Played up to quest 8, seems to play near flawless, only flaw I found was one small texture glitch in the fountain. I didn't really enjoy the game so I won't be able to confirm if it is 100% playable, but considering the game's minimalism, it most likely is.

Klonoa 2: While the newest config indeed fixes the bomb freeze, it introduces a bug in a few sound effects, that will not play and instead produce some weird quiet noise after a few seconds, same bug PCSX2 used to have. There's also some heavy graphical glitches in the Labyrinth of Memories stage.

Ha nice, I know about that Tsugunai bug. But come on man that game is sick! Just kidding, I know everyone has their own varying opinions on these older games. But yeah, that game is cool. :D

As for Klonoa, I am 100% sure the config didn't cause that. It must be a bug already there without config.
