PS3 Compatibility List - PS2 on PS3

I can't find where I read it but I read if these cmd were the last one, it actually do something... I tried to find where i read it without success :s
I was thinking in the easyer way to "fix" this problem, by doing only minor changes in get_config, this way you can focus in other more interesting stuff
Basically... the idea is to kept the code as it is overall... and generate the CONFIG files using netemu 0x05, 0x16, 0x18, 0x25, 0x2D... but rename them, in the same way there are some now named [tofix]... this ones can be named [nofix]
Is a bit dirty code fix and a bit pointless, but i hope it can be made easy

As said, the point is to solve this problem in the faster/easyer way posible and move on to other interesting stuff, later there will be time to return to this to see if there is a better way to do it

Also, you mentioned in other thread you want to release a new managunz version soon, i hope you are going to add all this hundreds of configs because is going to be an epic release \o/
The problem i see to make this and being a bit strict... is all this configs should be labeled by now as experimental so doesnt looks like a good idea to apply them automatically... the usage of this configs needs to be optional and disabled by default
And this is going to need some GUI changes in managunz... a new option with something like... "use experimental config"

This is a personal oppinion of course... the goal of all this is to have that collection of hundreds of "experimental configs" inside managunz with the biggest success ratio posible (not including the [tofix] and [nofix])

No, not all of them are working, the ones with the tag [tofix] won't work for sure and the other perhaps will fix some issue, I can't test them all alone ^^'

@sandungas
It look like my previous idea will giv us some result, I think i found where the area where the functions are. GX emu it's in : 0x34XXX + 0x10000 and in netemu at offset 0x44XXX+0x10000 . I used the pattern : "7C 08 03 A6 4E 80 00 20 F8 21 FF 91 7C 08 02 A6 F8 01 00 80" to find the area...
So, i think it's possible :p

I tests about 10 of this configs, they dont work, i always get the same error, i start the game, and then black screen, with my TV says "no signal". There is many cool games in the list, but unfortunately all configs are broken :(

You should tell the exact game ID of the games you are reporting, as example, there are config files for 4 different ace combats games iirc, and everyone of them has config files for 3 or 4 different regions, so when you say "ace combat" we are talking about around 15 individual config files or more
Honestly this kind of reports are a bit useless

And there has been people reporting success with some of that config files before, are the data we have been extracting from the emulators since... couple of weeks ago or so
All the success reports in this thread from the last 2 weeks are there as part of that huge database of config files

Can someone look into fixing Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne Maniax Chronicles Edition English patch on PS3? It gives a black screen when trying to play it. It's a Japanese only Version of the game which adds some more content to the game.

Zar i was taking a look at your github and noticed the commit today in gxemu get_config main.c with 13 new function offsets identifyed, nice
https://github.com/Zarh/Get_CONFIG/...e7b6e44#diff-2045016cb90d1e65d71c2407a2570927

Then i made the comparison in between the config files extracted by gxemu and softemu, and most of the new function offsets you found for gxemu had a direct corespondency with softemu (there are games using them that appears on both), so i updated this tables with all the new function offsets for gxemu and softemu
http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Talk:PS2_Emulation#ps2_netemu_cmd_0x01_function_comparison
You could do it too (and you should review them if you want, i think are right though), but i hope it helps you, if you do it again and identify more function offsets from gxmeu i will keep an eye at the other softemu conversions

And i made another ID.txt for softemu, in this one the games are ordered in the same way than inside the .self
And i decided to make small modifications to the other ID.txt for gxemu, this was made in both:
-removed the _ and dot in the game IDs to make them more "noob friendly" (SLUS12345 instead of SLUS_123.45)
-8 bytes length crc fields
-all crc to uppercase
-EOL windows style
Are uploaded here ---> https://www.sendspace.com/file/s5ferp

Please use that ID.txt and run the get_title, specially for softemu because there are some outdated configs in the git extracted from it

Edit:
Btw... the star wars battlefront I & II was in the group of this new findings :)

I dont know if NFS Most Wanted Black Edition USA as problems running without conf because i tested with a manual created config from managunz, used the same option speedhack, game runs at full speed, no fps drops.

I don't like the idea to include experimental config in managunz. It's what i wanted to do with the two folders OFFICIAL and CUSTOM in previous version but it was realy confusing for me... so, I can't imaging for the lambda user, who don't know how it's coded. l'll include only the working config.
That's why i'm going to include lists in the github to collect the feedbacks of "working" and "not working" configs.

Oki, i just added them https://www.sendspace.com/file/nxrsve

*This kind of changes are easy to do in notepad++ allows to edit multiple lines by keeping pressed the ALT key and dragging the mouse vertically to select multiple lines (im mentioning it incase someone was not aware of this trick)

I thought the goal was to make availables all this PS2 configs for the rookie users from inside managunz in the most simple and faster way posible, even if this implyes to include some incorrect configs (and to solve this it came the idea of showing them under a "experimental" category inside managunz menues)
I want more people to join managunz boat, the most that joins... the most help and reports you will have
The way i see (in aerospatial slang)... you have a great "oportunity window" to catch some :P

Edit:
There are 1344 config files in total extracted from other emus
788 from gxemu
556 from softemu
*And some games appears in both but the config is diffrent btw (i guess the people looking at this realized about it too, it looks there are some commands that are not needed in an emu, but needed in the other)

If you include them in managunz then people can report in a easy way if are working or not... but if you dont include them i think is going to be unafordable for you (or anyone) to mantain a record of which ones works and which ones not... is going to be needed to wait a lot of time for user reports... and additionally the reports are not going to be so straightforward

I know... doing what im suggesting is like adding lot on inestable stuff to managunz and usually i dont like this development route in any case, but this case is an exception

Just realized about a problem with get_title (for both gxemu and softemu)
gxemu ID.txt has 788 games
gxemu results.txt has 758 games (30 games are missing)
softemu ID.txt has 556 games
softemu results.txt has 550 games (6 games are missing)

The culprit is the file PS2.txt is missing some title IDs, and as consequence are not included in: results.txt, log.txt, and the config files for this games are not created

This ones seems to be the 30 missing title IDs in PS2.txt: (needed by gxemu)

What you was using to load the games ?, have you tryed with other loader ?
Which PS3 model you have ?
And which game ID is that harry potter game exactly ?

Well I have been testing and just discovered that if I have a config file on the PS2ISO folder, none of my ps2 games works until I delete the config file (Webman). Another loaders like Managunz or Irisman works but the config files doesn't

So is solved ? cool, that was shocking because the config files doesnt makes any permanent change :)

Im looking at the config files for all harry potter games (there are a lot), and the config for all them just uses a command that sets a small value, for this games is = 8

The only harry potter game that uses more complex commands is the "Harry Potter - Quidditch World Cup" (SLUS20769)
This one has an unknwon function

But if is one of the others (the ones that has an 8 at the end of the config file)... and if you are used to hexeditor...
You can try to change that 8... by a 4... or by a 2

*All that values are valid for that command... has been found used in other games... we dont know what does though

Well, another update. Webman doesn't works with config files, it ever crashes, Managunz can load the game but doesn't apply the config file. Irisman is the only one that loads the game and apply the config file, then the game works well. For Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban there are two different config files, one is on the google drive that was posted here and the other one is on https://github.com/Zarh/Get_CONFIG , bot config files work despites being different

Delete every config file in managunz folder, Perhaps managunz replace the config file.

The config file is loaded by the emulator, so the way the iso is mounted shouldn't change anything...

I check all US configs from Zar (SLUS, SCUS), most of them already added by another users and confirmed working, i tests all new configs, and all of them dont work, here is the list
