PS3 Compatibility List - PSP on PS3

I apologize for bumping an old message. But I can't find out why I get a black screen on 3rd Birthday when trying it as a PKG using PSP2PS3. I tried as remaster and mini. I can't figure out why it worked for this person but not me?
Hi, I'm struggeling with 3rd Birthday as well. I have it converted to a remaster with the suggested options in the minis2,txt. The screen is less blue, but has some sort of distorted overlay which I find quite annoying. When booting as iso with the psp launcher, there is only the blue overlay (which is imho less irritating)
I searched the whole net for hours, but the informartion how to get it to work glitch-free is sparse to say the least. Some suggest different options in the minis2.txt. I tried those with no success...
How is it working for you?

Is Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles not working 100% with Symphony of The Night and the original Rondo of Blood yet?

I was searching the internet and some guy had a similar problem loading this ISO on his PSP, going to black screen with SoTN, etc, but he could fix it.

Would it be the key to fix it in PS3 in a similar way somehow?

Hello guys, i want to play Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions on my PS3 but you can't actually use save function cause game just says "Memory Stick Duo not found". However there is a little note that appeared not so long ago on psdevwiki that says
" Requires Custom Config to fix slowdowns. Requires EBOOT patch to fix saves. Works with remaster or mini, action scenes too fast, gameplay fine."

And in the "Custom Config" section it says
  • The Saves needs to be fixed by patching the EBOOT.ELF
    • EU patch: raw offset 0x3A0A4 : 04 00 42 04 -> 21 10 00 00
My question is, how can i decrypt PSP EBOOT.BIN to EBOOT.ELF to do this? I tried several PS3 tools that decrypt BIN files to ELF but nothing works, can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance.

You can use PPSSPP and enable dumping of decrypted EBOOT.BIN, patch and resign it using some other tool.

where can I download config file and how to apply the to the game ?!

https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PSP_Custom_Configs
That wiki page is mostly a work in progress, and is a bit tricky to explain
The official PSP emulator searchs for the config file (in encrypted format) in the installation directory of the PSP PKG

Historically... one of the first hacks used to load PSP games was to use a "PSP placeholder", basically, it mimics the installation of an official PSP PKG, and later we are going to repurpose it by replacing the contents of the installation directory to boot different games
The problem is we cant boot a PSP game directly, we are dependant of the placeholders, and as far i remember the placeholders includes a config (we are using the same config for all the PSP games, thats a bad idea)

So, the first thing you need to do is to delete the config provided by the defaut installation of the PSP placeholders
And then... you can copypaste the (decrypted) configs from wiki page into a hexeditor, save them as a file, encrypt it in PC, and copy it to the PSP placeholder installation directory

FYI webMAN MOD allows to use decrypted config files.

If in the same folder of the PSP ISO there is an EDAT with the same name of the ISO + .MINIS.EDAT or .MINIS2.EDAT (e.g. MH.ISO.MINIS.EDAT), webMAN will replace the .EDAT in the folder of the PSP launcher with these EDATs.

If the content of the .EDAT doesn't start with NPD, webMAN will install a psp_emulator.self with support for decrypted MINIS.EDAT

If the EDAT starts with NPD, the original emulator that uses encrypted MINIS.EDAT is restored.

WARNING: Use with care on HEN, due the PSP emulator is replaced in /dev_flash

Damn that look more complicated then I expected lol, I wish It was just a copy paste like PS2 classic config

anyway thank you.

its probably been solved ages ago but i play FF type 0 as an ISO with the PSP Remaster launcher.my discs are patched to 1 ISO using the V2 patch.the cutscenes seem to play fine this way,not finished it yet on PS3.

Well, what i tryed to explain is the manual way, or better said... is what the PS3 expects to find
And what aldo explained is his implementation in webman to try to automate all this process in the most user-friendly way possible, but keep in mind this is the webman implementation, other backup managers could do different things, or doesnt supports PSP games management
Also, if at some point someone finds an alternative way to load the PSP games without the PSP placeholders some steps of the procedures could change because it would be easyer

I have diffrent experience with psp emu. Isos almost always fail for me. When remasters work better, but sometimes needs some "tweaks" to work. Btw. Maybe someone know how to make remaster bigger than umd disc (i think fake_np problem)? I want to play ff type-0 but always fail to make pkg..
I am able to play type 0 as an iso,V2 patch i think, converted into a single iso. my placeholder is modded only slightly, adhoc mode turned off so you dont get the choice screen at the beginning.if i do a .pkg it doesnt play cutscenes.
