Thanks for the reply lord3490 in your opinion I need one router, nas, and pc (for enable the ps3netserver) to can access to the data for the ps3?? You know if I can connect directly the ps3 to nas using ethernet conection and (when configure ports and other things) the mmcm can access to the data with direct connection using ethernet port (ps3 to nas)?? ((my idea is make direct connection and no need use router and pc to access at data of the nas using ps3)) What you think?? Thank you show much!!
You can connect your nas directly to your ps3.
(You may need to use a crossover cable. I'm not sure but i think with Gigabit LAN adapters that's not necessary.)
I was just suggesting a switch so you can also access the nas from pc and this wouldn't cost any speed as long as the switch is a Gigabit switch.
Btw. my pi has only 100mbit ethernet and thats still fast enough for me
Also, if you used a switch you could also have network/inernet with your ps3.
So for the connection there is no difference if you use direct connection or a switch.
Mmcm should work fine with ps3netsrv either way.
Now i'm just wondering, why would't you use a switch or the lan ports in your Router?
Edit: i just realized you never mentioned what exactly you want to share on the nas.
I just guessed you want to put your game isos (or folder format) on the nas?
I just googled the model and saw that this one has "UPnP Media server (support for PS3, Xbox, Boxee Box)", so video, photo, audio should already be possible.
