PS3 Console Total Powered On Time (WebMAN Mod 1.47.25.3+ feature)

here is the data about one of my ps3 consoles. Just to mention that i have put HDD a few days ago and the data compare between HDD and PS3 usage from webman could confirm that it doesn't read the data from HDD if anyone doubts, at least for these 12GB SuperSlim PS3 consoles:

It reads from syscon.

People were comparing syscon uptime with hdd uptime.

Here is a CECHE01 i recently got for pretty cheap, was shocked since its only had 2 days up total.. came on 3.60 the guy said it was used like maximum 6 days i didn't believe him. got its box and all OG accessories sealed except controller lol, $170USD.. pretty good bargain. and the temps are extremely good for a stock paste after 14 years xD. definitely keeping this gem in its box. after i delid ofc.

FYI 2 days is just the time counted by the good shutdowns (55 times).

The average time per session is 1 hour (2*24+8 = 56 hours / 55 = 1).

The estimated "real" usage is: 56 hours + (53 bad shutdowns * 1 hour per session not computed) = 4.5 days <= still very good :encouragement:

well i got this CECHE01 and its got alot of bad shutdowns. so i assume the 13 days is very inaccurate(different system btw then my last post)

I re-checked all the HDDs in my kits, here are the results. I guess what surprises me most is how many of them have wildly different stats despite the fact that I know they are almost all the original HDDs.
Untitled.png

Lol, at the parents hard-powering the console because the kid was playing too much, i remember that panic moments, bad times :crybaby:

Yeah, the counter with more than 3000 incorrect power-offs looks like an indication that the previous owners was doing something weird

But the thing that doesnt makes sense here is the total time of 13 days of usage only, in some way all the counters needs to be interpreted considering the others
I mean... 3000 incorrect poweroffs could be real if we consider the console was used for 1013 days
But in 13 days is completly weird, devil303 made a rought calculation, thats around 1 reboot every 5 minutes and repeated for 13 consecutive days
My theory about that PS3 being in a cluster and configured with some kind fo auto-reboot could explain that... but to be honest is not much probable

You gave me an idea with the times recorded in saves... there is also a time counter inside the hdd, you should try to take a look at it @excaliburn92 incase you still have the hdd that came with the console when you bought it
Use crystaldisk or any other tool able to read the SMART settings of the hdd
Apologies for the late reply. Things have been hectic, but thanks! I will give the HDD S.M.A.R.T comparison a try. I'll first confirm if it's the original 20 GB drive that came with it.

Edit: Alright, so I confirmed it's the original 20 GB model that comes with the launch models, ST920217AS (https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/ST920217AS)

Here's the crystaldiskinfo...info

Syscon stats from the 40nm CECHA I got recently.
The temps might not seem that impressive considering it's a 40nm RSX but keep in mind that this is with stock thermal paste.
When the fan speed went up to 32% the RSX began to hover around 45C with the CELL staying around 59C, this is after about ~30 mins of total power on time (I had just restarted before taking this picture).

Post yours. I'll maintain a list of the longest running consoles per model if there is enough data. If you have had any hardware failures/replaced parts mention it. Ideally, I want to see what the longest average time a console runs, without failure.

Once there is 3-4 submissions or more per model I can produce those stats.

idk if i have to post a pic, but my CECHG has 28d 03:52:00 • 787 ON • 747 OFF (40), no problems but i did repaste and may delid rsx when i bother to buy more thermal paste

Big news, I was testing my 40nm CECHA today and I took a photo of the webman settings before I launched a PS2 game then checked if the cycles or hours had gone up when I quit back to the XMB. The power cycles number hadn't gone up but neither had the total power on time.
Meaning when running PS2 games power on hours are NOT logged in the syscon, however they would still be logged to the HDD since that takes place completely independent of the PS3.

i would think that i might have added that time when you shutdown AFTER checking it. it seems that it only adds to runtime when you shutdown...so if it does not consider going into ps2 mode and returning as an on/off cycle (or two really), then it would not have added the time when exiting ps2 mode...it would have waited until you powered down.
