PS5 Current JB state clarification

Hey all, I've been following the activity in the scene especially lately and it's clearly moving super fast. Now I'm slightly unclear on a few things and I'm hoping someone can help me understand where things are at. I have a 9.x PS4 and a PS5 updated as of several years ago, haven't touched either in all that time so both can definitely run their respective HENs if I choose to.
  1. PS4 has full HEN which would among other things allow me to play my backed-up games so I can not have to keep my discs taking up shelving units. But, can I play those same backed-up games on my PS5 instead and not have to keep both PS4 and PS5 set up?
  2. It seems PS5 can now play our PS5 backups but I'm unclear on how this can be since I don't think there's been a Hypervisor exploit yet. Is there no longer a need for a HV exploit? Or would one unlock much more such as maybe full CFW? What exactly is the difference between the way backups can be played now, vs. if there was a HV exploit?
  3. How does a Kernel exploit differ from a HV exploit? I don't think they're the same thing but I'm not totally clear. If there is a kernel exploit incoming (possibly the recent $10k bounty just awarded) what would that give the scene, if there isn't also a HV exploit?
Thanks for helping me get my head around the current state of things.

1. as long as you keep your ps4 discs somewhere to stay legal, you can play both on ps5 AFAIK.

2. you can backup ps5 games using THIS new homebrew.

3. kernel is the very heart of the operating system. hacking it would better than hyperviser.

Thanks for the info!

1. Are you saying (as I hope you are) that I can back up my PS4 discs (using...?), store them safely away, then play those backups from NVME/SSD storage on the PS5? That's what I'm hoping I can do.
2. Yeah this is what I would use if/when I JB my PS5. I'm in no hurry so I'm letting things mature a bit before I take the plunge on anything. I didn't realize it could also make backups of our PS5 discs tho, that's great to know. I hate actually touching my discs, but I always want to have the option for physical media as I don't trust "Digital Only" consoles.
3. Ah ok, so hacking the kernel could mean no need for an explicit HV exploit since it would maybe allow for a bypass of the HV security altogether, or something like that?

Ahh so I would need to keep my PS4 handy and hooked up to be able to back up discs. OK, but I could just go through them all once, get them all dumped, then store the PS4 away and play them on the PS5, is that right?
