PS2 Deaded MCs

I got 4 used memory cards, all of them worked normally, 1 of them was original, I formatted them all with the complete formatting of MC Anihilator, then I installed funtuna, updated OPL and ulaunchelf and installed the apps, but after a short time of use they all died, the PS2 Slim does not recognize the MCs, it shows "no data"
I even thought it was a bug in MC Anihilator that was killing the cards
What do you think it could be? They all had 8MB
I opened them all, cleaned the contacts and it didn't work

I am not sure what "killed" your memory card but how much space you have available on them?

Do all of them show 0 KB or something around 8 MB?

What type of liquid you used to clean the contacts?

probably a stupid question, but could it be the ps2 itself? if you have a ps3 to psx/ps2 adapter. maybe that could tell you. I don't know if the adapter can detect ps2 memory cards or not as I have a superslim, so it would be worthless in that regard.

are you sure your memory card is being detected? even if its empty, it should still show the MC icon

If i recall, that "there is no data" screen shows when nothing is detected (no MC no disc).

For an empty MC, it will show the MC icon, and when you open it shows nothing, but not that "there is no data"

i could be wrong though, i cant fire my ps2 to confirm now. But you need to see the MC Icon, if its not there, ps2 is not even detecting (not a matter of being empty)

No show icon mc
Then your PS2 is not detecting the MC at all.
It may not necessarily mean they are empty, they can still be "alive" but your ps2 is not reading them

Try port 2, if it doesnt show on port 2, open your console and do a good cleaning, not just the MC port pins but the general board, there are some fuses specific to the MC lines that could trigger if there is corrosion

If the memory card is not recognized in the browser I am not sure if there something that can be done to recover it by software.

What type of liquid did you use to clean the contacts?
