@DeViL303 paid for a 3 years plan in 2019. It's expired now.
I have paid for 3 years on my server now, but who knows after that :)
webMAN MOD online covers, Ultimate Toolbox resources and other services for the PS3 community hosted on that server are unavailable.

I think we need to start a fund-raising campaign to help DeVil303 with the server costs and recover these services.

So all is gone forever ???
The resources are not lost.
The site is down, hosting & domain name need to be renewed
As far as I can make out, DeViL303 already did more than can be expected from any dev, it's time for the community to start doing its part if it wants to ensure continuity.

Donations to keep online services alive are a recurring problem with every project, that's the main reason rebug.me closed down as soon as Joonie retired. Now it's DeViL303's site which is down & the way things are going, in 6 months it will be the PS3 Toolset's turn.

So after this will you make an offline version of the toolset which can be hosted on LAN ???

As for me I've donated already. Hope it helps.
Could the internet archive also preserve the existing content before the hostname went down.

But yeah I'm going to see if I can get some mates to donate to.

LOL.
Certainly not.
If ever the community ultimately doesn't care about keeping the Toolset project online, have it grow & branch out, that is fine by me HOWEVER it should expect absolutely nothing else from me from then on, my work would probably remain private.
Anyway we have not yet reached that deadline, we shall see when we do, for now it's DeViL303's online project that needs help & that is what this thread should focus on.

Every little bit helps, just takes many to donate a small amount.

Internet Archive for a website its not going to backup files like that, mainly just the text and pages of the website. , That is not the solution, the solution is for user's who enjoy or like the services to give a small amount to keep it up...

a bit on the sidelines, but if these are static content files, maybe they could be uploaded to a Github repository, and use a new "github pages" URL to gather these files?

I've been using github to host my homebrew project files for Apollo, Artemis, the Save database, and now Goldhen cheats manager too.

of course, I'm not sure if game covers are copyrighted content and those kind of details but just trying to share alternatives and ideas

cheers!

So I'll happily donate some cash. I do not use it but I do encourage availability for those that do. @bguerville @STLcardsWS @aldostools where or how should I send over some dough? I haven't seen him on here in a while and I lost my discord account where I used to talk to him
Afaik he hasn't been around all that much lately but he logs in every now & then to help users.
There is a paypal.me link in OP as well as wallet addresses for crypto. If that's not convenient for you, you will need to ask him directly for alternatives.

I have talked about this before, we could consolidate hosting for the community into just one unlimited contract with a solid & reliable service, proper support for both http & https, and ftp access for dedicated directories for all serious contributors. It would be a lot cheaper overall & it would be much easier to ensure continuity on the long term while keeping some flexibility that free hosting solutions cannot offer.

The problem is funding it on the long term, raising a few bucks regularly is like trying to get blood of a stone, it feels like you always have to resort to making a big thing of it to get a few donations for about a week & then back to square one so much so that trying to raise say a lame 15 bucks monthly for such a purpose seems like an impossible dream.
If the community does not feel like helping itself, there is little devs can do to improve the situation, and as we keep seeing, individual initiatives are great but rarely last.

Apart from this post, not many people will know that about the PS3 Toolset hosting situation. However, a large number of people use and would like to continue using it in the future, myself included. I am happy to donate to the PS3 Toolset situation, and i am sure, given the knowledge about the 6 months dead-line, so would many others here too. Maybe for transparency you could create a thread soon, outlining:- (1) How long PS3 Toolset (hosting) has left. (2) How much (the total amount) is needed in donations, and how many years of hosting that will buy. (3) Where / how we can donate.

I will try to be brief about this because I wish this thread to remain dedicated to devil303.com & not the PS3 Toolset.

I am working on a major revision of the Toolset with many new features in existing tools & a new file manager tool on top.
When this update rolls out in coming weeks, a warning about the hosting renewal situation will be issued to the users on page load & that warning will remain until the situation is resolved or the site is taken down.
So there will be no surprise, users wishing to keep the project alive will have the opportunity to make a small donation before the 3-year hosting plan deadline is reached in October/November & help keep the Toolset project online presence going.
I would need to check the exact figures but roughly speaking I must still raise 250 bucks minimum. As to the donation details, they are already available in the Toolset home tab, I may add more crypto options.

I must admit to being somewhat disappointed with Toolset users though, I would have expected enough small donations to keep the boat afloat naturally rather than force me into a begging position which btw I really do not enjoy.

That's great news, thank-you. Most of us think everything is going to last forever, until it's gone of course. You shouldn't look at it as begging (as you put it), it's just making people aware of the facts / situation.

It would be great if there was a permanent (pinned) post / reminder for donations aimed towards the Devs here, explaining the things people use and love the most don't actually grow on trees, but rather comes from the Devs' hard work and money from their own pockets. We users too often take things for granted not realizing what is really going on behind the scenes, i am 100% guilty of this myself, and a simple "like" doesn't pay the bills for sure.

I will gladly donate $20 a month. Even set it up for recurring payment. While I do not use it as much as I used to I still had more then my fair share from others generous contributions

For a consolidated project, I would probably donate something regularly too but I wouldn't want a situation where donations are constantly limited to the same handful of people either.
Imho such a community project must be supported by the community overall & not just by a tiny collection of individuals otherwise the situation will always remain precarious.

Understand but should I be of any help I will gladly contribute. It's not about a recurring collection. I got help from COUNTLESS devs yourself included many times. Just would like to help if it's needed. The PS3 is still my favorite system ever. Never did I have such an amazing generation of games b
