I am not so sure about that...

About me not having one, or the emulated PPC emulated version?.

(On a semi-related note, I think I had less issues with POPStarter on a DECKARD console, as in less streaming audio crackling on games like MegaMan Legends.)

New release DKWDRV 1.7.2
https://github.com/wisi-w/DKWDRV/releases/tag/1.7.2

1.7.2
Fixed an IOP init bug which might have impacted boot up on some systems.
Allows config saving for PSX.EXE games with no SYSTEM.CNF
Memory card 1 or 2 can be selected for saving game config.
Config and cheats are now searched in both slots instead of just first slot.
AutoDiag is enabled if found in config.
Added and improved documentation.
User warning if disc not valid.
Controller input from both slots.
Limited mecha config to possible values and added some info for them.
Fixed more minor bugs.

The anonymous persona started something big! :)

...but it will probably take months or even years to use its full potential.

About this (from git-hub readme):
  • Automatic PS1 license and logo check patching for DECKARD consoles. At the moment is not possible to patch PGIF consoles but perhaps later. PGIF users will still get a warning for such cases so they can know why all they get is a blackscreen. It is still possible to proceed in case the user has some other form of booting games(modchip, swapping, etc).
It means The ability to play backups, right?
I have the deckard Ps2 already patched with MechaPWN so i can't verify it. If it can be extended to older Ps2 (that don't support MechaPWN) it'd be great.
The only existing software for doing this now is TonyHAX, but is not that comfortable (and also impossible if you don't have a entrypoint game).

Interesting, I'll have to try this on my PSXes and see if this will help with it only reading JP PS1 discs, even with Mechapwn 3.0. I've been using a swap disc to play American PS1 games but if this will auto patch that, this is great!

EDIT: I should read more carefully next time... black screen on a NTSC-U/C game. Figures it's not that easy...

tried with 9001(deckard) with matrix infinity 1.99 and mechapwned

testing sprite filtering:

Sprite MMAG filtering OFF

Sprite MMAG filtering ON

disable modchip
restart with lid open
open memory card
load psx backup and close the lid
launch opentuna with dkwdrv.elf
run

You don't care about the visual for now, but at least just center the menu, please, I tried to experiment without seeing which menu I am on on Crt Tv. You know, there may be image shifting, at least if the menu is in the middle, no one will be affected by this situation.

DKWDRV's developer has worked hard and using emulation in DECKARD, managed to make a proof-of-concept loading of PS1 games from USB mass storage devices, emulating the CD subsystem.
(In PS1 mode (only) on DECKARD models (PPC-IOP).)

Not all CD access commands are emulated yet, which causes some games to crash and others to not have music. However the overall compatibility with the few games tested, appears to be generally very good.
Emulating the CD audio direct feed to SPU may be difficult or unreliable, so it is yet not known if music will be made working in the future.

Because not many games have been tested yet, it is unknown if other bugs may appear, which to reduce compatibility.

Release date is undecided yet (may be after months, and hopefully together with other bug-fixes).

PS: Sorry for the my bad gameplay and low video quality. :D
