hi everyone, thats actually my question, i have a ps3 slim CECH-2100A, its being jailbreaked since the use of the old usb teensy 2.0++ boards. in those days we have to keep a disc in the tray at all times, because some games could even corrupt the whole HDD if you start the game without a disc in the tray.

Right now my PS3 uses the Rebug 4.82.2 REX – Cobra 7.55, multiman 4.82 and irisman 4.82 for ntfs external hdd. i still keep a disc in the tray, but do i still need it? i dont leave the disc in the tray when i turn off the console, since some users said that its bad for the console, but, in order to avoid having the disc near to put it in the console everytime i want to play, do you know if every game now works disc-less mode? btw im on rebug but cobra is disabled, since i dont know how to use it :(

thanx for any attention and info on this matter.

Is not needed, if you convert your PS3 backups to iso you should have 100% discless
thanx for the answer, ok, i have 2 external hdd, one is fat 32 with folder format games, the other is ntfs with iso games, so you think i should convert the folder games to iso? or is there a way to use folder games disc-less?

Most of the PS3 games in JB format can be played discless, by using some of the (lets call them) "legacy" mount modes
But there are some PS3 games that refuses to work in JB format. And there are a lot of mount modes for games in JB format, is tricky to find the one needed for each game

Is easyer to convert all PS3 games to ISO. So you dont need to worry about choosing the correct mount mode or configuring any game settings
ISO format is monkeyproof, just click in it and play, it has some other advantages too

For FAT32 storage you can split the ISO to 4gb chunks
