PS3 downgrade HFW TO CFW

you can flash the fw with the PS3xploit website, but check your MinVer on HEN and if it's 3.55 or below then go for it. if not then sorry but it's just HEN/HFW for now

i don't have HEN on my ps3, i had CFW 4.84 FERROX befor and when i want to update my ps3 i saw last version is 4.86.1 i didn't know is LITE, my ps3 is slim CECH2004b, there is it any solution to downgrade to 4.86 or lower ?

your post said hfw to cfw, do you not have HFW installed? if you have HFW and you want to reinstall CFW then flash the fw with the ps3xploit website and just reinstall CFW from there.

I don't have HEN icon. when i want to update my ps3 from cfw 4.84 ferrox to last version i downloaded HFW 4.86.1 LITE rebug 2 months ago, and now when i want to play ps2 game i don't see all tools in rebug toolbox selector section, and saw some video in youtube and then i now that the version is lite and not like full version and i can't downgrade or play ps2 game. so i just whant to now if this is right or not. Thank you
 
There's so much wrong with this entire thing... First of all, you simply DO NOT use youtube for this kind of things, since there's so much newbs posing as experts using outdated methods that are usually dangerous. Unless, of course, the channel is reputable (such as MrMario2011)

hfw is hybrid firmware, NOT custom firmware. you have CUSTOM firmware (cfw) installed, not hybrid firmware.

You don't need anything on rebug toolbox to enable ps2 games capability. you just need to have cobra enabled, which should be enabled by default. You might also not have the latest version of the rebug toolbox installed, to install it go to package manager, install, system storage, it should be there since it's included with the firmware.
Once you confirm cobra is enabled, place your PS2 isos on dev_hdd0/PS2ISO (they can only be played from internal hdd), mount them with your preferred backup manager (irisman, multiman, webman mod, managunz) and play from the disc icon on XMB. That's it. No need to downgrade.

I want to change hfw to cfw my minver seems ok but i don't understand and didn't try with my ps3. On **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) web site there is flash dumper and writer which one and what i will do there?
 
Again, it's not HFW. If u r on rebug, this means it is CFW not HFW.
First check this and then will tell the next steps

It depends which version you are on, if you are on 4.86.x HFW or lower, then you CAN install CFW using the ps3xploit site. Here is how you do that, you should also read up about using Bguervilles PS3 toolset.

However if you are on 4.87 HFW there is currently NO WAY to get to CFW. You will just need to wait for exploits to be updated, hopefully in the next few days.

Such firmware as "HFW 4.86.1 lite REBUG" doesn't exist... So Your post doesn't have any sense. There is i.e HFW v4.86.1 and i.e CFW Rebug v4.86.1 Lite. Downgrade (which term is also wrongly used by You), can be made on any CFW to any CFW/HFW/OFW if QA flag is set. But from OFW/HFW no without remote webkit exploit and compatible with CFW console.

You cannot install CFW directly on OFW (HFW is OFW). It will fail with an error during the installation.
You need to use bgtoolset to patch the installed OFW or HFW to be able to install CFW on a CFW compatible PS3 model.

If you're already on CFW, you never have to use HFW or OFW. You upgrade or downgrade directly installing directly another CFW.
 
i just asked is it completely safe to install CFW on a CFW compatible model, if i previously have a HFW on it, or it is better to upgrade to a real OFW before migrating to a CFW. I heard that HFW is OFW with exploitable browser (an older version), but just wanna be 100% sure, not 99%. ;)
