PS3 Error creating ISO from PS2 disc

Hello everyone,

I am trying to create ISO's from my PS2 games through multiman, but all the games I tried failed, the weird thing is not a single sector can be read, only the read error message appears on screen.
I checked all the disc and they have no scratches, the laser seem to be fine, since I am using the same PS3 to play PS2 games without a problem.
It's a fresh install of Evilnat 4.88.2 with just multiman installed.

Experiencing this exact issue with original PS2 discs as well, fresh install of Evilnat 4.88.2 with just multiman installed, and unable to use multiman to make ISO or 'copy' came to HDD. The PS3 is a 'phat' variety. The 'Create ISO' option only gives "read errors" and the 'Copy' command instantly says 'aborted'. Any advice appreciated, thanks!

wanted to add: I finally got it to work by choosing the option under multiman's mmCM menu: "Switch to multiMAN mode", reinserting the media, and trying again. I don't even know what this option is supposed to do or why it should make a difference.

That's exactly what I did to solve my problem, I don't remember now if changing modes is actually needed, just inserting the media after entering multiman maybe is enough to make it work.

Yeah mmCM is a branch of multiMAN that used to be exclusive to Cobra dongle users as deank had a deal setup to make a branch exclusively for them. Fast forward Cards got the Cobra Team to release the source code so deank megred them into one app. Keep in mind if you ever want to convert a JB folder to ISO on the PS3 you need to be in multiMAN mode. They do have different distinct features.

Finally, that was the answer I was looking for. For me it solved the issue. Thx! =)

Thanks man worked & installed the game!

I ran into this issue, simply quitting and restarting mmCM was enough for the PS2 disc to show up as the game name and allow it to be ripped successfully.

I did not have to reinsert the disc or use multiMAN mode.
