PS3 Error when downloading flash memory patch file

Hi, on both of my CFW compatible slim ps3's, I'm getting an error while trying to install CFW. I click on Flash memory patch, download patch file, then it get stuck on a please wait screen for a minute or two.

After that, i get the message: "An error occured during the download operation (80710d23)"

Any fix for this? Or could someone upload the nofsm_patch_486.bin so i can just put it onto my hard drive through my computer?

it is here. click download on that page. same file just rename it. put it on usb device. :)

This is a ssl error caused by a network problem.
CELL_HTTPS_ERROR_NET_SSL_RECV_EAGAIN 0x80710d23

Downloading the patch file to storage is not the recommended way to use FMM for jailbreak, I suggest you use the "patch via https" feature instead.

The file download to storage feature is entirely managed by the browser whereas the "patch via https" feature downloads the file to memory using ajax which turns out to be more reliable than the browser file download plugin most of the time. I suppose that the browser performs additional checks & those fail on your system for some reason. You might wanna try to rebuild the database in safe mode before eventually attempting again.

And if you really need to download a no-fsm patch file for some reason but the download keeps erroring out on your PS3, you can always get it on PC from the github.com/littlebalup/PyPS3tools repo.

when I try to get patch from https I get a validation error and also loading operations failed. Any idea why I am having this error and how to fix ?

Post some screenshots of FMM and operations logs with the idps hidden so we get an idea of the situation.
 
This issue has now been resolved. If anyone has this same issue. advise them to restart console and router as this fixed this for me. Thankyou.

Hi Buddy I have another issue which I am really stuck with. Please could you give me some advise.
I have evilnat 4.88.2 installed. I am trying to downgrade to REBUG 4.84 with DEX. I can not toggle QA flag. When i open REBUG TOOLBOX I have this message - Your system is not running on compatible REBUG configuration. The rebug toolbox is installed for 4.88 tho. Also a QA pkg file will also not work. I need to unlock Edy Viewer.

Please help/.

In Evilnat CFW you should have a QA flag toggle in CFW Tools, you should not need Rebug Toolbox or a QA toggle PKG.

Hi You have been really helpful and i appreciate it. I tried signing in to psn today on evilnat 4.88 and when i enter my credentials and hit enter it says to update the system software ? Do you know why this is coming up ? I can't get on psn.

install the new evilnat 4.89 and you can go online again.
 
Thankyou Coro, cfw is now updated to 4.89 and psn sign in successful. Sorry it was a nooby question, I am new the ps3 cfw scene and was not aware that a full 4.89 was released. Thanks once again.
 
bguerville - i am thinking about moving over to 4.84.2 REBUG DEX but no sure if it's worth it. I like how easy it is at the moment to disable syscalls and go online but i can't get as many good mod menus and they are kind of limited on cex. What is your thoughts ? Is it easy to go online on DEX with 4.89 released ? I would appreciate your help.

I cannot say as I have not tried to go online with DEX 4.84 since the 4.89 update yet, I overheard people saying that they couldn't connect anymore but then again, with all the recent changes, it may be that those reports were not fully accurate as users may not have used the updated password system or whatever, I am not sure.

I still use Rebug REX 4.84.2 because I must, I need DEX for development and for debugging. Moreover I don't play online so I don't use PSN much anyway.
Your situation seems quite different, I suppose you will have to make your own mind about what features you need most and adapt practices according to the risks you take.
 
Thanks for the advise. I will look into it more. I don't think you are able to get online with rebug 4.84 as sen enabler only spoofs to 4.87. I will do some investigating.
 
In CEX mode, you won't be able to use PSN with the CFW as is, ONLY DEX mode might still let you. Version spoofing and proxy tricks are to be avoided if you don't wanna take too many risks.
