I could say cpu is dead, usually I get 3~4 ohms on board and out. When I've forgot to cover middle of bottom cpu with aluminium foil I have seen much more than 6 ohms on cpu power line.
Unless you can desolder cpu and reball you can not be sure.

I have no way to reball the CPU sadly. I bought this ps3 for spare parts. I have a working ps3 with rebug cfw that has problem on loading Blu Ray discs. When i load a ps3 disc and boot the system, i get a black screen. When i connected the blue ray drive of the dead ps3, i got the same black screen. Could it be that both blu ray drives are dead? Is there a way to troubleshoot the blu ray connections and/or drive through syscon?

Sounds like you just need to remarry the foreign BD drive to your console.
Blu ray drives need to be "married" to the specific console. You cannot simple take the BD drive from another console and put it in yours and expect it to just work. That's why you get black screen.
Thankfully you should be able to solve that.

You said you have reflowed the RSX, these errors are still data error related. The ohms readings seem fine, though 14ohm seems a bit high?

I doubt your reflow was good enough.

Regards the blue ray issue, you need to connect the original blue ray back to the ps3, Then use the rebug toolbox to get the root key and copy to a usb stick. Then you can go into factory service mode, and remarry a new drive.
Lots of guides on this.

Yes i've read about the need for remarrying the blu ray. Because the system booted and acted the same as the original blu ray drive, i thought that maybe with rebug 4.86.1 this need was patched...My bad. I'll try remarrying the drive.

About the reflow. I put the board inside the oven at 100C for half an hour. Then i covered the board with 3 layers of foil and cut square holes over the the cpu and gpu. Last, i used a hot air gun at low setting for 60" over each. Probably not enough time to reflow? Actually this might be good, cause if the dies had any cracks, this heat i guess was enough to temporarily fix them... At this point i don't have anything to lose. I'll give it another try to reflow and use the heatgun for 2' over each core.

Ok, I installed python 2.7.18 (im using Windows 64bit)
And I think I properly installed the modules (serial, pycryptodome, crypto)
I messed around a bit to see. Print Helloworld and such.
I can now run python scripts. Ok.

(I havent even plugged the dongle or anything. I want to see if I can more or less see if it's all ready before I disassemble a working console to mess with it)

Now I try to run the uart script...
Attribute error bla bla
Is this what's supposed to happen?
Should I begin disassembling a console, or am I already so lost that it's still not the time for that?

Cheers

I just drop a python.py inside open cmd should work fine, I will pay attention to your needs.
Python.py comX SW (for ver001 and up models)
CXR, CXRF for rest of old boards as python will say if you run inside cmd
Did use python 27.18 for 64 windows 10/7 and working fine cryptodome and pyserial, plus updates of pip required by python in cmd will say something about uploading commands. RIP-Felix was suggesting that and working on any version of Windows.
Have you got UART connected to USB without anything else, just USB adaptor and see if still get UART line error, should not come.

Ok, thats not enough to melt solder.

Solder melting point is 180C upwards. Never used a heatgun for this, maybe someone can advise what a good setting is?

But your heat settings are way too low.

Ah, thank you for suggesting that. I think you are pointing me in the right direction.
I plugged just the dongle and the result is same, but now I think I realize why.
First the dongle should be present AND some driver installed so that it appears as a COM? port.

Looks like just plugging the device is not enough? Device manager didn't install any driver automatically.
I will se what I can do about that

This is of course assuming I bought the correct type of dongle

Anyway I wanted to test first without any dongles at all to see if all is going well so far, because this is something anyone can do first, without buying anything.

Adaptor is fine, python needs to know what com you use. Install driver and see what you can get
Something like that

Yes, I installed some driver and now I think I'm typing the command properly.

Unfortunately same as before. Maybe I did something else wrong earlier? Or maybe this is normal?
This is still with no ps3 attached. Just the adapter. I will try with real COK002 board later or tomorrow.
If this is normal. Maybe someone can confirm what this error means, or what should happen with no dongle, so that people can test before messing with the hardware

Do this again :
https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-2718/
pip install pycryptodome
pip install pyserial
There is some required updates in pip you should run that to.
Install python in pc there is one option unticked in first install I remember
Both pip commands should work in cmd after python is installed on pc

On data recovery foud something to help some people

Ok, I did everything again on another computer and now it's working (this time Windows 7 32bit) Thank you
It only takes 2 minutes to set this up!
But now I think I know what I did wrong earlier.
I typed "pip install serial" instead of "pip install pyserial"

Without any dongle it should arrive up to
Auth1 response invalid

Tomorrow I will continue with real hardware

Cheers

Well done! For most 3034 and 4xxx errors could be fixed on delid and new thermal paste on both die ic's. Look at board on a straight jig can say many things about board if require reball.

Solder melting point is 180C upwards. Never used a heatgun for this, maybe someone can advise what a good setting is?

But your heat settings are way too low.
So i heated a dead nvidia 8800gts with the heatgun, after preheating it at the oven for 30' at 100C. It took 3'20'' for the gpu ic to desolder. Because the ps3 has a bigger board and heatspreaders above the ic's, i'm gonna heat it for 4' and check back for the results.

I try now for real with COK 002 board.
The board is in standby mode (red light)
I connect RX, TX, and GND to dongle.
Dongle is working as COM6 port.

Now I run the script. And clearly something is happening (lights blink on dongle)

But I get "Write timeout" error.
This makes the command prompt freeze. I need to disconnect everything to close it.

After that, auth1 response invalid again...

I will try again on other computer and see.

First step for any CRX
Python.py comX CRX
AUTH in first place with big letters
There is a pdf show to apply EEP patch to go further
Only after patch is applied you can connect diag pin to gnd and get auth with small letters.
