Wrong thread for this question. Acorrding to the ps3 devwiki's error code list your the FW you are tying to install is corrupt. I've had that happen before too even though it isn't. 1st try installing from safe mode. And if that fails too, try installing a different CFW. IDK why, sometimes it just doesn't like certain FW's and you have to try a different one.

I've tried so many FW, and it does have the same results, very desperate right now because I've tried various methods for a whole week and still failed, but right now I can downgrade to 3.55 with FW from rogero, and still, whatever I run is just a black screen
 
Haven't been on for a few days but thanks for the replies about the Cell Frankie possibilities. It is interesting stuff for sure, but like was said, would add a lot of complexity and new point for failure for the console. Still would like to have a CECHA/COK-001 modded with a 45nm RSX at some point in the future though. Do most modders who perform the Frankie keep a stock of RSXs on-hand or it needs to be provided? For example, would keeping a 3001 Slim on-hand to use for its 45nm RSX on-hand or a 2001 Slim for its 60nm RSX? Is 45nm RSX "better" even though you lose the ability to downgrade to a lower firmware vs a 60nm RSX (even though hotter/more power use)?
 
hey guys. I've been working on slowly trying to do my first frankenstein and am about to buy a YLOD E01 of ebay but in case of it having too new of firmware I want to be able to flash the NAND but I can't find a PS3 NAND flasher to buy anywhere. Where do you buy one of those?

You can get a teensy (might have to get one off of aliexpress) or you can get a flashcat, that would also work (can find it on ebay with the TSOP for nand chip).

CXD5300GGB is the model number of the 40nm RSX I installed, so yes it was changed.

The Tantilizer cards are replacements for the NEC/TOKIN capacitors that have been engineered by Mr. @RIP-Felix to be comparable to the performance of the original parts.

Ah, I see. I was unaware of the technical terms for the said components. Did you consider the 65nm RSX at all or set on 40nm? I was reading that the 65nm RSX supports downgrading firmware below 3.15 for those that every wanted to go back to OFW for OtherOS while I believe someone posted the 40nm RSX is around 3.55 (or something). Very nice though. Hoping to have the same done to mine at some point.
 
No problem. I had the 40nm on hand, but since they are very expensive, I would use 65nm from now on unless that changes. Of course there is nothing wrong with 65nm if someone wanted it. :)

@sandungas 2 people have reported now that the CXD5300GGB 40nm RSX has required the "w 3254 21 EB" command instead of EC, which appears to be the more common variant. 5300, 5301, and 5302 don't seem to be what determines which need the EB vs EC command. But I'm thinking the 3 letter suffix may.

Anyway my point is that the CXD5300GGB does exist (Confirmed), but doesn't have an entry on the PS3 dev Wiki. I though perhaps you could rectify that.

I made alternative lists "by series" for CELL, RSX and SB to try to group together some component names without taking in consideratio his suffix, and to try to assing them a common "BGA pinoutl layout" for them in groups

The most accurate where i mentioned all the suffixes ("GB" -> "AGB" -> "BGB" -> "CGB" -> and so on) is the CELL alternate list, but i dont really know what means that suffixes, all i know is they was using the same suffixes for different components, and they uses the same suffixes in other playstation consoles

By reading what you are saying it seems in RSX they went so far away up to "GB" -> "AGB" -> "BGB" -> "CGB" -> DGB -> EGB -> FGB -> GGB... so it seems the CXD5300GGB is the most newer revision (8th) reported so far from the CXD5300xxx series

Right now i dont remember if there is some wiki page where is mentioned the syscon commands to do the frankenstein RSX swap, sadly we never organized that so much as far i remember :/

But that page doesnt exists yet, and imo a requirement to create a new page for it is to upload a photo (with a quality good enought to read the name etched in the IHS) because that photo is the proof that exists

So... do we have a photo of it ?, i can do all this wiki changes if some of you provides the photo

@Octal450 is the one that had it. He took a pic, but was pretty grainy (low quality). He could tell more about it.

Hi sir,
It was bought from Aliexpress and soldered to the CECHA by me. Came with leaded solder, so it is pull/reball, but sadly he did not say where it came from.
