Funtuna Fork

PS2 Funtuna Fork 1.0.10 - FAT support

Hey there! Is there any way for me to modify the installer in order to have it install OpenTuna with my own FunTuna.CNF and with the latest OPL 1.2.0 Beta 2156? I created this .CNF file to give my FunTuna a "stock" look, for those who don't particularly enjoy that native "custom" FMCB look which is kind of a mess. If this is possible, where do I start?

Here's my entire idea: edit the installer .ELF file to use this .CNF file and the latest OPL Beta during installation, then create an .ISO file from it and patch it with Free DVDBoot, so I can create FunTuna Memory Cards on slim consoles with no modchip and without needing an already-FMCB Memory Card.

Reason: I have a friend who owns an un-modded PS2 and a FunTuna Memory Card, but he doesn't understand much and might ruin the exploit on the Memory Card, so I'm thinking of burning a self-bootable FDVDB disc with the modified installer .ELF file in it. This way, he can just boot up the CD/DVD if he ever messes up his exploited MC and re-install FunTuna right away, without having to teach him how to install it, then change the FMCB configuration, update his OPL, etc.

too much mess for such a simple task

tell him to copy his funtuna config file, send it to you, edit it and send back so he replaces it

or he can also put it on usb to test, before actually replacing old config

Hey, I was wondering today about the possibility of making FunTuna self-bootable, without having to open up the Browser, then open your Memory Card, etc. Since I'm not a programmer, I'll just ask if this could be possible:

Since all versions of the PS2 have the same Sony Computer Entertainment startup with that black void with a blue cloud, colorful lights floating around and the "buildings"... wouldn't that be exploitable?

What do I mean by that: since the number and the height of these "buildings" in the startup vary according to the amount of save-game data on the Memory Card, that means that every version of the PS2 already reads your MC at startup, without having to open up the browser. I know it probably just makes a very simple reading of what's in there, but couldn't that be an opening for running ghe exploit right away (meaning, right after the Sony startup, without opening the Browser...)?

So I didn't see this post till I was browsing learning about Tunas and their history.
But what you want is what I just recently forked from the OpenTuna Installer. Its like... the same. And you can swap out the config file in the source on github and then just run the compilation.yml file and the installer elf will have your config instead of the included one.
